We are all booked!
We booked our package last week when we ordered our Disney Visa, and we just got the cards today (well yesterday, but just got the mail today) and booked our plane tickets. I am so excited to have that done
. We got America West for $159 each way non-stop. The only thing cheaper was Delta but they had horrible layovers and I didn't want to do that with 4 kids. The idea of sitting in an airport for 4 hrs. just doesn't sound fun
. Some travel times were 10 hrs. No way!
We have Fantasmic! dinner reservations at the Brown Derby. I really wanted to eat there anyway, so it worked out well for us. We are also eating at the Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's for my DSs birthday, Sci-Fi Dine In (not necessarily for the food but for the atmosphere), Coral Reef, Le Cellier and maybe the Supercalifragilistic breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We are also going to try to get reservations at Cinderella's Castle. Our family wasn't going to eat there, but my sister wanted to so she booked for her family there today. I didn't think it would be possible after everything I heard about it filling up so fast, but it wasn't a problem for Feb. We decided we want to go so tomorrow I need to call and try to get them for the week before for all of us.
Has anyone ever had a problem changing a reservation with Disney? We want to add another night, include the Water Parks and More, and add another day to our ticket. I was thinking that they probably wouldn't have a problem adding. That is just more money for them.
It is so nice for this to be coming together. I am so excited! This is our first trip to WDW. My sister's family is going with us so it should make for some wonderful memories.

Sounds like you have a nice trip planned! When is your trip?
I dont think you will have problems adding days onto your reservation... give them a call and see what happens.
You know... if they have to delete your current ressie to book the extra day with a new ressie, that may not be a bad thing. Get your deposit back and then rebook paying your deposit on your Disney Visa. You will get 6 months 0% on the deposit. Then when you have to pay the balance, you will get 6 months 0% on the remainder. I have done this in the past and when I found that I was able to get 6 months 0% on both, I was happily suprized. (PLUS got the rewards points as well...)
Hope that helps!

That's exactly what I was going to try. Cool to know that it works.
And TTFN-that's a nice air price from Phoenix.
Surprised to hear about Cinderella's being available. Thought it was one of those "must call at 7am exactly 180 days out" kind of things.
To DL or not to DL September 2010-that is the question....

I definitely thought that about Cinderella's Castle. As for the Disney Visa, we did use it to book our package. We applied at the same time as booking so we were able to use it for that
. We just couldn't use it for anything else until we had the actual card in our hands. They didn't give us a very good limit though. We even tried to up it and they denied us. I can't figure out why because we have fantastic credit. Infact, an insurance guy told us he had never seen credit as good as ours. We did just buy a house so maybe it has something to do with that.
Oh, our trip is the first week of Feb. It is supposed to be a good time to be there. I can't find any events that are happening, like cheer competitions
, so hopefully we won't come upon a slammed park. Do Florida schools have year round school like they do a lot in S. Ca? I know that affects the crowds there. We always plan trips when the park is "dead", according to everyone else, and we always hit it when it is crowded. We even went one time while it was raining-the entire day- and it was still crowded. Everyone has told us that they have their best trips in the rain because no one is there, but not for us. Last Jan. I went with my sisters and I had been reading on the DL board that the crowds were extrememly light for 2 wks. and we get there and it was so crowded. Turned out to be a long weekend for S. Ca. schools. Touring Plans said this was a good week to go, I talked to someone who went this week a couple of years ago and the crowds were minimal. I'm hoping it will hold true. We want to have a good trip!

In most cases it is. We have tried hard over the past few trips to no avail. Its still one of the hardest places to get into.

Bad news...
This has been posted on the MousePlanet WDW Weekly Update:
National Dance Team Championship. Feb. 2-4. Teams descend on the Wide World of Sports (link).
National High School Cheerleading Championship. Feb. 9-11. Teams descend on the Wide World of Sports (link).
Twirlmania. February 1619. Twirlers, auxiliary guard, pom, and dancers descend on the Wide World of Sports (link).
We are going to be there the weekends of Feb 2 and Feb 9, so I am concerned about the crowds too.....

Dont worry about those visiting groups being there as well. Most report that they do not impact the crowds all that much. If you are staying at a value resort, you may see additional activity, but that is about it.
Keep in mind, they are there for their specific event - they dont have all that much time in the parks compared to the average visitor.

Oh, man! I even went to that website while we were planning and thought I had clicked on every link there was. The only dates I kept seeing were in Jan. and later on in Feb. Well, at least I know in advance so we can prepare. We are staying at ASMu. At least they won't be there during the week. All I know is that at DL they are obnoxious. Not that they are bad or doing anything wrong, but when you get that many teenage girls, who are loud and peppy, it can just be a little annoying. But, WDW is a lot bigger than DL so hopefully that will spread them out a bit. Thanx for the heads up. I would have hated to be surprised.

That is exactly what we were thinking. We had our fill of cheerleaders at DL last Feb. But WDW has so much more space to spread out! And if MK is crowded, we can head to AK or Epcot....
