Hong Kong Disneyland launches annual passes to boost attendances, DPA, 9/28/06

QuikQuote: Hong Kong's Disneyland theme park Thursday announced an annual pass program in an apparent effort to boost disappointing attendance figures in its first year of opening. The passes - which range in price from 47 to 231 US dollars - have been put on sale after the 3.5-billion-US-dollar theme park fell short of its first-year target of 5.6 million visitors.
The park, which opened in September 2005 and was funded largely by the Hong Kong government, has been criticized for being over-priced and for having too few attractions.
