Loving my sweet pea.
Ack! Where to eat? (long)
Currently, my plan is to eat at Ohanas at 5pm before MVMCP (on my birthday) and then take the monorail over to MK. I also have a "back up" ADR at Tony's before the MVMCP for 4:35 (only thing available for any MK restaurants that evening). On another day I have an ADR for CRT at 5:20, but it's after our only day at AK, requiring us to leave earlier than park closing and missing an hour or so in the park. On another evening I'm planning on going to Boma after Cirque.
I'm a little torn on whether to keep the CRT ADR. It was the only ADR available for there for my whole trip... and I feel lucky to snag it, but after recent food reviews I don't know if the 2 table service credits will be worth it. I'd really like to eat inside the castle, this being my first trip and all, but am thinking of giving that up and eating at Boma that day instead since it's close to the AK. (I'm planing on spending the evening in MK after dinner, no matter if dinner is at CRT or Boma.)
Then I would move Ohanas to after Cirque, and eat at Tony's before the MVMCP. Any suggestions on which way to go? I definitely want to eat at Boma and Ohanas. Tony's I'm not so excited about, but I've been reading it's beneficial to eat in the MK before MVMCP. I'd rather eat at Ohanas on my b-day than Tony's, but I'm afraid of crazy lines to get into MVMCP if we eat at Ohanas. Thanks!

I can't speak as to how good CRT is now as we have not been back there for dinner since they changed the format.
That being said it seems that there is a bit of a dilemma over leaving AK an hour before closing. now not all people will agree but you should easily complete a day at AK before you need to head over to MK. We usually finish everything there by about 1pm. even on our first trip to AK we were done by 2:30
So I say keep your ADR as is. and have fun
Grateful for all God has done for me, and for having Wfoxx by my side.

You mean other than echoing what efoxx said?
But seriously, Keep things how you have it and enjoy. You have some real good places picked out and you should have a great time.
While I understand your concern about CRT, give it a try and then submit your own review so that others can read about the experience. I know I would be interested....

I wouldn't bother with Cinderalla's castle. I've eaten there a couple of times and was not impressed with the service or the food (although I'll admit it was pretty cool inside). Ohana's is wonderful and a lot of fun and they pipe in the music for the fireworks so you don't miss a thing; and you can see the fireworks so clearly. Have fun!

I agree to definitely eat BEFORE the party, but being in the park itself I wouldn't worry so much about (unless you don't have a park hopper, in which case then yes, I agree, that early ADR is a great benefit of course). If eating elsewhere is an option, then definitely make that the Ohana night . . . the crowds to get into the MVMCP on any given night are so wildly varied I personally wouldn't plan around it. We walked right in, for example, but had not been able to get an ADR anywhere in the park as early out as we could book it, so it's never really an indicator.
From everything I've heard, I would drop CRT as well, unless you are bringing (or are a) princess fanatic. I know it's your first trip and all, but I'd hate to see you rush around and end up disappointed for something that expensive.

hmm... well, as of right now, I'm leaning towards keeping my CRT ressie and still planning on doing Ohana before MVMCP. I just saw the new menu for Tony's, and it looks even less appealing to me. A couple of things that sounded really wonderful to try have been taken off. So - unless anyone thinks that I'll get a huge advantage to eating inside the MK on party night, I'll keep things they way they are for a while and see how things settle. Thanks for the replies!!!

CRT is an experience not to miss. Not because the food or service is so stellar, but because dining in the castle is a singular experience you want to take advantage of. Growing up a Disneyland-girl, it was an amazing treat to be IN the CASTLE! Not only that, we got reservations timed so we could be in the castle when the fireworks show was on, so we had the best view in the kingdom (or at least very different and unique
.
I liked the food very much, myself (2004), and the desserts were HEAVENLY! I mean, wow. And our server was incredible--handsome, booming voice, very kind and attentive, and I loved being called "Princess" all night long. *grin*

Are the two reservations in different names or at substantially different times? I'm not sure how often it happens, but WDW has been known to cancel one or both reservations if someone has two that conflict. With the fairly tight availability right now, they really frown on "back-up" reservations.
I'd really suggest that you make your decisions soon and call to cancel the reservation you don't plan to use. You should also verify that the one you plan to use is still in the system.

The two reservations are only 25 minutes apart. You are right, I need to cancel the one I don't want. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to do that tomorrow. I want to free it up for others. And thanks, I'll confirm the one I do want.
While I understand the view point of not making double reservations, for a newbie it is awfully difficult to decide and have everything planned out so far in advance. I feel an awful lot of pressure to have everything reserved asap. If Disney happened to cancel my ADR's - I'd fight them on it. So, hopefully everything is okay and well.
