Thanks for the update Darkbeer. Earlier in the week I had thought about going down today but life got in the way. After seeing how "big" it was I'm glad that I didn't waist the gas.

    ANOTHER Question:
Are we supposed to post all photo updates in here from now on and not start a new thread?

He is a "face" character for the meet and greet, but not sure why he is there, he talks a bit, but clearly the stars are the two cars.....

    Lots to check out

Lots of Progress at the Sub Lagoon

The Jolly Trolley is out for photos

    The Cars Pre-Parade event

More dramatic shots of light crowds at DCA, compared to a somewhat busy Disneyland

The Fossil store sign is up (and is nice looking)

Crok's Bits 'n Bites is closed

And a last look at Yamibuki's before it closes after business Sunday night for a major refurb

And of course, a lot more, including the lack of "Fun" at Flik's Fun Fair.....

    ENJOY!

And here is a fun story from yesterday.....

Stopped by the DLR yesterday, and around 2:30 PM stopped and used the NOS restrooms, on the way out, standing by the Women's entrance, a man almost entered but stopped and was trying to find the men's room (which is kinda hard to find if you don't know where they are), I noticed this, looked up and saw the older man who looked real familar holding a young childs hand (about 3), I just smiled, and pointed in the right direction, and he said thanks....

I stuck around, he looked real familar, so I started to look for a "Tour Guide" CM, and couldn't find one, he came out and head back towards the Haunted Mansion, just him and the child.... So I just thought he was a good look alike....

Then later in the day, across from GRR is this group of about 8 folks, including a private "Tour Guide", and once again, this gentleman in an old Dodgers hat, blue T-shirt and jeans.....

So, yes, I was right.... I helped Larry King find the restroom......

No shots inside the park, since I had my buddy, Deogee with me.

Also drove by Los Sanchez Mexican Restuarant on Garden Grove Blvd (Had to go get cheap gas, $3.049 at Euclid and Trask), the building is pretty much done, the signs are up on the building, so it should be open soon. Sorry, but no photos, maybe sometime soon....

Work is progressing at the Sub Lagoons, faux rocks are appearing, and the subs have been painted.

Found a real mouse out in front of the castle

A stop at the Big Thunder Ranch, a horse, a cow and goats make the album, along with some photos of Walt and horses

The POTC queue was up to about a 45 minute wait

The Disney Showcase store (at the top of Main Street/Town Square on the east side) has gotten rid of all the 50th merchandise and is now a Halloween store. Looks like the stuff to be used for the Fantasyland dress up like a princess thing is already for sale. Most dresses were around $60, and each accesory was around $15 (things like, wigs, crowns, gloves, wands).

The new turnstile display at the Main Entrance

Halloween invades the Pirates area in World of Disney

Fossil opened Friday, a look inside, they sell more than just watches here.

    ENJOY!

    *sigh*

I love your photo updates. The pictures are not like the usual travel site pics; they make you feel like you've been glancing around in the park. I can't wait to go back and see everything with my own eyes again...you got me jonesin'.

Food Network attempts to break World Tallest Popcorn Structure at DCA - 8/6/06

This album mainly covers the filming of the Food Network Challenge program at DCA. The segment "Popcorn Giants", will air on October 9th at 10 PM Eastern/Pacific as part of the "Records Breakers Week" show. Food Network Challenge is a weekly series on the Food Network. A group of 11 folks are trying to break the record, currently at 4.89 meters, or 16 feet, 0.5 inches, set on October 3rd, 2003 at Allan Park Cinema, Stirling, United Kingdom, where they built a likeness of Godzilla to set the record for the "Tallest Popcorn Structure". The team today is trying to build a Mickey (Basically Mickey from Fantasmic! with his sorcerer hat on (Helps with the height...) The team building the Mickey likeness is mostly from Florida, though two folks are from Michigan. The build is scheduled to end around 6:30 pm, so off to get photos of the finished build.

The earlier photos can be found here....

Way cool Darkbeer! Kind of a scary looking Mickey but it's cool they broke the record.

Are you sure you live in SD? Id almost be willing to believe you live in DL. (That would be the little green monster coming out in me) Dont get me wrong, I love the pictures and I sure hope you keep taking and sharing them. It allows us to see the progress of the submarine lagoon as well as many of the other activities that are taking place. It also gives us the ability to live through you vicariously.

Well, I have a Condo in San Diego that I own and have most of my stuff at, but on the other hand, I have a WONDERFUL girlfriend that lives in Tustin and for some reason I prefer staying at......

Who knows, I am thinking about relocating to Orange County, but there is a lot of things that need to get done first...

As for the "live through you vicariously" comment, well, last week we went to a timeshare presentation to get a free trip to Catalina including a hotel stay and the ferry (well, we needed to pay $23 in taxes), and of course, lots of photos will be taken
