I saw this mentioned in another thread- Which resorts have boat access to which parks?

    Cool

Poly, WL, GF and Contemorary to the MK. Swan, Dolphin, BW, BC, YC to Epcot and MGM. May be others.

    Cheers.

    If Memory Serves Me Right...

The Magic Kingdom is accessible from the Monorail resorts (Contemorary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian) plus the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.

Epcot and the Studios are accessible from the Epcot resorts (BoardWalk, Yacht & Beach Club, Swan & Dolphin).

Animal Kingdom is not accessible by boat.

Ooo, so we could take a boat to the MK after breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Excellent

Or walk, or take the Monorail. Walking would probably be the quickest.

nothing's as fun as riding in the front of the monorail. although i prefer it going INTO Contemporary.

You know, I've never ridden a monorail at all. We never have the need to ride it at Disneyland.

at Disneyland, it's always been more of an attraction than a means of transportation.

even at Disney World, it's become relatively antiquated. too expensive to build on it.

this is a shot i took going to CR from MK for CM

Caribelle - we prefer the boats. Riding the monorail smells like being in a circus train. LOL!

Also remember POR, POFQ, SS, and OKW are connected to DTD via boat. Not a major park, but still boat transportation.

We did that too and got real comfortable with the transportation system. It can be fun and sometimes a game trying to figure out the most creative way to get from one place to another.

The search function is like the Force. It may take practice, but the more you use it, the more control you will have over it!

Since we don't have anything planned for the day I arrive maybe we'll do just that!

There's a fun transportation calculator here: http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.asp. Play around with it, and you'll be a pro before you get there .

Just so you are aware of what we are talking about. the boat from the contempo to the MK leaves from the farthest point away from the MK. that would be in bay lake. the walk from chef mickey's to the boat dock is about as far as the walk to the MK. then it is about a 15 min. boat trip all the way around the contempo to the MK. by far the least efficient means of getting to the MK. the fact they still run this service is pretty amazing.
now the monorail on the other hand, well it goes the wrong way. but it is a great way to go if you want a preview of some of the other hotels. leaving the contempo the monorail first stops at the TTC, then the Poly, followed by the GF, and finally stoping at the MK. total time about 15-20 min. walking takes about 5 min.
so use this guide to decide, do I want to get there, get there in style, or get there sometime.

Grateful for all God has done for me, and for having Wfoxx by my side.

That's kinda what I was thinking as I look up some of the routes just now lol The boat sounds like a bad idea for the day I want to get from CM to MK since it cuts into park time, but it might be fun for a day I don't have anything to do.

I've spent entire days doing pretty much nothing but riding around on Disney transportation... boats, monorail, an occasional bus - good fun.

I used to *love* riding the trams around Fort Wilderness when I was a kid.
