Does anyone have any experience with purchasing park-hopper tickets through e-bay?
There have been threads on this in the past, and the consensus is that it's not a good idea. There is no way of telling if the ticket you are buying is active and the kind of ticket you need. It would be very simple for somebody to sell a used ticket, or one that was partially used and has expired (they expire 13 days after first use). Disney had a promotion in which you could get a free child's ticket with an adult purchase, and some people sold these extra tickets on ebay since they didn't need them. I suppose it is possible that you might find a seller who simply had to cancel their trip and wants to get some of their money back, but it's more likely that you'll find somebody who is trying to finance their trip to Disneyland by selling a useless ticket to an unsuspecting buyer. Some people even sell tips on how to get into DL cheaply, including suggesting that people buy 7 day park hoppers and then sell their remaining days to somebody else. This is risky, for various reasons, not the least of which is that you could end up with an expired ticket.

I am selling one on Ebay right now that I got for free from Disney Visa. It's 100% legitimite, but, I'd check the sellers feedback VERY carefully before committing to buying DL tickets on Ebay. Even though I am selling one, I'd never recommend buying one on there! It's scary!!!
I've bought several tickets on Ebay over the years and never had a problem. Just make sure you buy from a reputable seller and use your credit card because if anything goes wrong, you can alwayd do a charge back.
NEVER buy park tickets from eBay...
It's up to you, but don't come crying here when you get totally ripped off, otherwise you'll get quite a few "I told you so" type replies.
I would not buy them off ebay for the reasons stated. there is NO WAY to tell if it is legitimate ticket. Not to mention, especially if it is a "partial" ticket, they expire 13 days after first use.
