Going to Walt Disney World in February need some advice.

Do they offer specials in early Febuary? I have no idea on what to pack? What are the crowds like? Is it too early to start planning? When will the rates be out? And any other advice you would like to give would be great.

    Welcome to Mouseplanet!

The crowds will not be too bad as it tends to be a lighter season. When I went in Feb, most ride queues ranged from no wait to 45 mins for a newer attraction like Soarin'. (Most were in the 10-20 min range.) In essence, I would go back around that time again, given the chance.

Pack for spring-like weather. It can get warm during the day but can get chilly at night. Dressing in layers or having a light jacket handy is not a bad idea.

As for deals and your question about if it is too early to plan for next year - it is never too early to plan. However, 2007 rates may not be available for a while. Same goes for specials and/or packages. My own advice is to start planning things like length of stay, where you want to stay, what kind of tickets do you need for your trip and what your trip budget is going to be. You will find that these things take time to plan out and you can have a lot of fun doing it as well.

Of course, as you come up with questions, feel free to post them here. Also, searching the boards will also help you find good information as well.

The search function is like the Force. It may take practice, but the more you use it, the more control you will have over it!

If you go before President's Weekend, the crowds will be good...but starting right before and the week after that weekend the crowds tend to peak and so do the prices.

you'll love going in early Feb. - here is what we do in terms of weather/clothing:

first off - we are from Maryland, so going to Fl. in early Feb. feels warm to us. Often, we will start off the day in shorts, T- shirts and a pull over or sweatshirt. By mid to late morning the sweat shirts are tied around our waists! Sure, there are warmer/cooler days. And rainey days - but on average we feel comfortable going out in shorts in the morning.
