    Memorial Day Weekend Crowds

We, OK I, want to book our "farewell to AP" weekend for Memorial Day weekend. We're not going to renew, DH wants to take a few months off, probably buying new AP's in October.

It is also DS' 8th birthday so I thought we'd stay on the monorail and maybe send him on the Pirate Cruise.

    Any thoughts? Crowds? Advice?

    Thanks

I love the reason (farewell to AP!)

I've heard it can be crowded that weekend (check out the trip report archive - I'm sure Sheri N. has one in there from Memorial Day weekend from last year or the year before!) - but does it really matter? Just do some of the stuff you haven't done in the last year!

And make sure you can still GET the pirates cruise before you mention it to your son! Not much worse than a disappointed kid.

There are now a few other cruises besides the GF one. There's the Albatross Cruise that leaves from the Yacht & Beach Club's Bayside Marina, a new Sassagoula River Cruise out of PO Riverside, and I've heard, but can't find info right now, that there is a new cruise at Caribbean Beach. See http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...84&postcount=1 for Y&BC and http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...37&postcount=1 for POR info.

There's limited space on these cruises, so I'd call right away to reserve, and don't forget to ask about CB if the others are filled.

Any monorail resort AP rates still out there for that weekend? What's your resort choice, if ya have a choice, Jenn?

I've never been that weekend but been the week following, when crowds built day by day. Living in FL, you'll remember that it'll probably shower every afternoon for a bit so watch your plan times.

Glad you and Andrew are having a last AP fling - sounds like fun, for you and the kids. Happy Birthday from all of us to your son - Don't forget the birthday button!
