Two reservations -- getting bags transferred from one resort to another?

I know I read that if you have a split stay one resort will transfer luggage to the other...

Is that also true for the value resorts? We have 2 nights at Pop and then 10 nights at Port Orleans Riverside, so would like to have our bags transferred.

We added on to our Best Rate reservation for the end of the month (at POR) but maxed out our 10 nights for that reservation ... so we also booked (using the AAA discount) 2 nights at Pop Century on a seperate reservation. We never stayed at a Value before, but I thought I read that they don't have bell services -- if they don't, then who would we leave our luggage with to be transferred over to POR after those 2 nights?

I just wanted to make sure we could have the luggage transferred from POP to POR-- and see where we go to do so.

Is there any claim ticket we would get or anything along those lines?

I am not sure how it all works since we only ever stayed at one resort per trip before.

At the Value resorts, it's called Luggage Services. They dont' have a staff of bellmen basically, to help bring your luggage to your room. I you ask for assistance with your luggage from your room, however, they will send someone up to assist you. To me, it's mostly semantics, and I also think it has to do with the size of the staff and ability to provide different levels of assistance.

You would get a claim ticket for your luggage no matter what resort you are at for holding your luggage.

There are two ways you can do it. You can lug your luggage (ooooh, so THAT's where the name comes from!) down to Luggage Services and tell them that you're transfering resorts. They will check your bags in and hand you a claim ticket with your name, claim number, and number of pieces on it.

OR, you can touch the button that says 'Luggage Services' or something like that on your in-room phone, and they will come up to your room and check your bags in there. It can take a while, so plan accordingly.

When you check-in and your room is ready at POR, just call Bell Services from your in-room phone and your luggage will be brought up to you.

It's wicked easy. We do it frequently. Just remember that if you have open bags, to make sure that items can't spill out of it so you don't loose your daughter's favorite stuffed toy that she basically had since birth. LOL!

Any time! I'm sure others have their own experiences to add, too. My husband was against resort transfers, because he thought it would be too difficult; now we do them fairly often.
