Check-In/Tickets
This will be my Wife and I's first time staying on property and I had a couple questions. Our flight arrives in Orlando at 10:30 AM and according to the info I was sent check-in isn't until 3:00 pm. We are staying at All Star Movies. Will we be able to leave our luggage somewhere, get our tickets from front desk and hit the parks or do we have to wait until we check in?
Would they let us check in that early? Thanks.

Yes, you can check in as soon as you arrive. You'll be given a room keycard, but won't be told your room number. You can call the hotel or check back at the front desk after 3:00. You can leave your luggage at the front desk and they'll keep an eye on it until you can get into your room. I don't recall if they actually move your bags for you at that point, but you might ask when you check in.
If you bought a package (park admission + hotel) your room key will double as your admission passport, so once you check in you'll be able to go to the parks immediately.

To add to that, once your room is ready, you can either collect your own luggage down at Bell Services and drag it up yourself, or you can call Bell Services (Luggage services might be on the button) from the room and they can lug it up for you.
If you are taking Disney's Magical Express on the inbound trip, they will handle your luggage for you and place it in your room after your room is ready and you've checked in. It can take a while to get there, so pack a day bag of stuff you'll need that first day.

Been There...Done That
And, to add to that...Bell Services will gladly hold that day bag and any carry-ons for you for the day. You can go back and retrieve something from a bag if you need to - just make sure you keep the ticket and a tip is customary.
As Andrew said, you may check in as soon as you arrive. You can occasionally gain access to your room at that time, IF your room is ready. That's a big IF, depending on the season and busyness of the resort.

I'm not sure if you have a vacation package or not. I assume the room keys act as park admissions for that right? Otherwise, can't you just use your MYW tickets even without having a room key. (minor point- I was just currious). We have stored our luggage until the room was ready with no problem.

..and to add to THAT... (hehehee, have a serious case of the giggles today! you cracked me up!)

Room keys can act as park admission, if they are encoded on there. There are several ways to do this:
1) room and tickets bought on one package
2) room-only reservation, with Keys to the World tickets added onto them
3) room-only reservation, with tickets purchased elsewhere. Ask Front Desk to move the separate tickets to the room key.
I think I'm complicating your question in the off chance someone else reading this thread has a related question, but yes, the room keys and park admission are on the same card. You can also use MYW tickets without having a room key.
Did that answer your question at all, or should I go back to giggling in my little corner??

When I checked in at the Polynesian on Dec 16th at around 10:30am, the rooms (I had booked two) were ready. I had booked room only and then added the park tickets as Keys to the Kingdom as previously mentioned. I added the tickets about one week before arrival. The bags - and we had plenty - were brought into the room by the bell services. We were in the Magic Kingdom by noon.

Fall Festivities
In 2002 we arrived around 10am. Our room was ready. In 2005, we arrived around 9am. We only had to wait an hour and our room was ready. In October we arrived around 1pm and they sent us to a room that smelled overpowering of deoderizer and the carpets were wet. They moved us right away but we were able to check in right away.

Thanks for all the replies. Our flight into Orlando was actually changed by Delta today so we will be arriving even earlier (9:00 AM). This will be my Wife's first trip to Disney since she was 6. Just trying to make sure everything works out so she can enjoy it. I've been several times but my last was back in '94.
