Will this have an effect on the crowds today/tomorrow?
it can have an effect, if the day is slightly crowded you lose two hours of ride time. So it may seem as if you have gotten less accomplished.
Disneyland IS the Happiest place on Earth!
Remember that the Disneyland is also opening an hour earlier this week, so the effect should be minimal. The biggest difference is that you won't have the fireworks.
That said, the park hours for this week have been posted for at least two months, so this shouldn't be a huge surprise....

Park schedule says fireworks at 5:45 tomorrow?

The fireworks happening right at closing was a problem. The fireworks ended at 6:00 and the park closed at 6:00 so there was everyone staying to see the fireworks and the die hard attraction riders all funneling out of the park at the same time. It took us a bit over an hour to get to the DLH. It makes you wonder what would happen in an emergancy how fast could they empty the park?
Now why can't they do that in Feb.? 5:45pm or even 7:00pm would be cool.
That's the only thing about off season. No fireworks.
2nd trip, Feb 2009 Old Key West 7 nights.
First trip, April 2007 Port Orleans Riverside 6 nights.
Been to DL so many times I can't even count.
Is the party itself just like normal operating hours?
Are there any special events going on during them?

In an emergency guests would be exited out multiple gates around the park and not just the main entrance.
If it's after closing and I stare at you, that means, Go Home.
