Hi,
A friend and I are headed down to DLR for the afternoon next week.
Am I right that if we're there by about 3 we could still be issued a finalist ticket for that day?
Guess we're feeling lucky, ha ha.

The way I understood it is, they hand out the cards until 4pm. At 4pm they do the drawing. We entered the park at 4:05 one evening and didn't get cards and that's what I was told.

The rules state that the cards will be haned out from 3:01 PM the prior day to 3 PM the current day. Anyone entering the parks for the FIRST time during that period (If you entered in the morning, you do NOT get a second ticket if you re-enter after 3 PM). Also, only people with paid tickets (including AP's) get a ticket. If you have a complementary ticket, or get signed in by a CM, then you will not get a game card, since most of those folks are not eligible (related to a CM). If you got signed in, but are eligible, you can go to Guest Relations by the DCA gates and get a game card (must have your valid ID).

By the way, SCRATCH your ticket right away, since you need to go to City Hall that night (for cards handed out after 3 PM), or by 4 PM that day for tickets handed out in the morning and early afternoon hours. Don't just place it in your pocket or bag, as you might forget, and might lose out on a chance to win.

WELL THEN.. the CM that we had didn't know what was going on then. Cause I was told that since we entered after 4, and the drawing was AT 4, then that was all for the night. Humm.. I bet I would have won that night too!

I actually told this one CM to give me the winning ticket, he said he just gave his out to the lady right in front of us. SHEESH.. talk about right place, but seconds late. :s

I'll cut the CM's a break since we were there the first week of the contest. I had a couple that even forgot to give out the tickets. I had to ask for them.

So have they given way all the cars so far? I only heard of the 1st girl. Isn't it a car a day?

I believe it is a car a day. My husband won a car on the second day.

Ok, we went yesterday and we entered DCA at 4:15 and were issued cards. They weren't the winning cards but we were definately still given them. Maybe the CM was just trying to get rid of cards she had but I thought that was weird that they were still giving them out that late, especially after what I read here.

My parents entered the park at 5pm during one of the days ofour stay. They were given scratch card. They didn't having a "finalist" card. Had they had one, it would be for the following day's drawing.

Congratulations! How cool was that?? Do you have the car yet? I would have been freaking out.

As for the tickets being handed out after 4pm, apparently (according to Darkbeer and the rules).. any cards handed out after 3pm are good for the next days drawing. Makes since that way nobody gets left out!

It seams like no one really has the correct information or they keep changing it.

I also have arrive after 3pm and no more cards were being passed out.

But if you click on the link that is provided in the above quote it has the rules that someone mentioned earlier. that tickets after 3:00pm are for next day.

That is probably why so little people have been showing up for the actual 4pm giveaway. i am sure that someof the after 3pm tickets could be one of the winning tickets but the people never come back the next day.

i think they should have just done a random winning with no preset time for the prize give away.
The computer could have pcked a random winner each day and also given a few other smaller prizes

50th shirts
50th mugs
a couple premium passes
and when the person won the car they would do the whole space mountain dedication thing in the esplanade.

I have personally been handed game pieces when I have arrived at the park after 3 PM multiple times, and the tickets were for the next day....

I was quite bummed when I found out that they hand them out at both parks. I did not know this & was not given a game piece for the car!!! This was at DCA SOoo I asumed that when I went into disneyland the first time I would get one!! NOT "SORRY you already entered once today!! Went to city hall & of course there was nothing they could do!! It was a bit late! Disneyland CM's were much better informed or cared more I guess About us Guests & gave one out & said what they were for!!! nothing at all At DCA was said & no one in the line I was in got one! Not fair!! Just A warning here! If you really want the car remember to speak up & get your game piece the first time you enter either park! but most especially DCA!

Soryy, I don't have any pictures of the event. We took a few before and afeter but not during. We were very excited. What a wonderful way to start a vacation. We do not have the car yet... paperwork and all. But hoping we'll get it soon

Wait..wait. You will be there Monday and Tuesday, right? Just win one of those days and leave Wednesday's car to me. ok?

I'm leaving from Salt Lake area Monday morning to my folks home who live about 20 minutes from DL. Making the 10-11 hour drive.

I would guess, Wolverine, that you are leaving from Provo.
