making first trip w/out kids, any tips

Finally, just me and a friend... no "mom how much longer is this line", or "my feet hurt", or "I don't care is the line for Dumbo is and hour long I wanna go on it!".
Anything I "must see" that I normally wouldn't with my little ones?

    12 more days!

Just have fun. Don't plan anything, don't get a park map, just go in and have fun. Follow the road and see where it leads you.

Although, don't forget to ride Space Mountain!

I loved it when my husband and I went with no kids. We did the "romantic" thing. I know you are going with a friend so "romantic" isn't the theme but do at least one thing you have never done because you were with the kids. Eat at the expensive resturant, take a tour, fantasmic! balcony seating - or if your going on the cheap wait for the fireworks show in peace. Have fun!

Lunch at the Blue Bayou, absolutely!!!! Make reservations now and enjoy yourself. Stroll down Main Street and enjoy the shops and dinner in Downtown Disney at a restaurant you would never take kids to. Disneyland really is for grown ups too. Oh and wine tasting at DCA. My DH and I went by ourselves in June and had such a wonderful time not having to rush here and there and do potty breaks and mandatory naps (although I think naps are as much for me as for the kids ). Also sit by the pool and relax. Have a great, great time.

Live simply. Love seriously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Not sure what kind of friend you're speaking of here, but the Railroad on that long stretch between New Orleans and Toontown is a great place to be alone at night for a few minutes.

And if it isn't appropriate with this friend ... file it away for future reference.

    I agree with HorizonsA!

The first time I took my mom to DL~just her and I, as adults, she was a maniac! Literally. She made me sick going on Star Tours and Space over and over during early entry one morning. I tried to "plan" the trip to make sure that she got to do everything she wanted to do.
No need. All she wanted was the freedom to go where she wanted when she wanted.

Needless to say, I had to beg her for a break every day we were in the park. She was in her 50s and I was nearing 30. Yet, she had the energy of a 20 year old.

I think every parent who has treated their kids to DL should be able to go alone or with friends. Just so they can do all they want to do without the constant "Moommmm!!!"

Have a great time doing whatever you feel like doing.

My husband and I don't have kids. We like to wander around and just discover things... spend some time in the movie theatre on main street watching old cartoons, look through the pricier shops (usually without buying, they still smile at us when we leave), check out the corners of the park that you don't have tome to look at when you're trying to get in every ride possible. I can't promise you any one magic moment - you'll find your own. It might be wandering into Ariel's grotto in between signings and playing with the squirting fountain, or finding the perfect ornament in the radko shop, or climbing on a rope bridge on tom sawyer's island, or getting splashed in a canoe. It's just totally different without kids... you get to do whatever you want, when you want to. Enjoy. :-)

Yeah...we really are just friends. Our husbands and kids will be at home making huge messes of our houses. But, I think we'll both remember that tip when we go alone with our men.
