Oct Event... (MouseAdventure)
Why is the WORLD is this on a sunday? And all day? Who has time for that! Aren't most people going to church on Sunday? And then to have the energy to go from 9am-6pm? Who's idea was/is this?!
The 2 day in a rolw event is even worse, who wants to drive to DLR 2 days in a row? Sure, might work out if you happen to be traveling...

Maybe they're Seventh Day Adventists. They go to church on Saturdays, no?

Well historically we had it on Sundays so that people whose APs were blocked on Saturdays could more easily participate. Plus, it's a much less crowded day in the park, and believe me, MA is much easier in a smaller crowd! That's how it started.
Then it unofficially became a two-day event because many people come in from out of town so on Saturday we were having picnic meets.
We usually skip church on MouseAdventure Sundays, to be honest. God understands. She's happy to see us almost every other Sunday of the year.
And lots of people like going all weekend. Each event just gets bigger and bigger. It's ok if you don't want to participate. Everyone's entitled to not like it. But lots of people do!
Adrienne
Edited to Add: We used to drive to DLR two days in a row but this time my wonderful AAA agent found us a fantastic deal on a room on Harbor. Woo-HOO!

So it's not Alex's fault, it's your fault. Is that what you're saying?

I subscribe to the Church of Walt theory that I've heard on some other message boards, mass is Sundays at the park to pay homage to all things Disney.

Gotcha! Well then you did a great job!
I'm going to assume you'll be back on the 14th to make all the necessary arrangements!

Actually, I forgot about this, but for the Spring event in 2005 we recruited a family from our church to play! We were talking about it after mass one Sunday and the kids begged their parents to sign up!

I've attended the Church of Disney before.

Or maybe the folks who organized the event are Godless heathens? They'll probably show up in their black robes freshly splatted with the entrails of dachshund puppies sacrificed at the altar of their (the heathens, not the dachshunds) god, a turtle-shaped Chiapet named Mugsy.

Nah. Couldn't be.

Also, while it becomes all day due to sign in and awards, it is really only a 4 hour game. And if you want you don't have to stick around for the awards.
So you're saying you've never taken a day to do something fun? You should try it, you might find you like it!
And the idea started with Kevin Yee. And, as adrienne pointed out, it is on Sunday so everyone with an AP can attend and not be blocked out. I think that's very fair.

Well not everyone, mostly Alex, but everyone already knows about him... (Except for the robes and blood and dogs part. He doesn't do that.)

I am a faithful church goer who will just be missing church that Sunday. Although as previously said, what about attending another service that week? Such as a midweek bible study or maybe something on Sunday night.
I too am excited that they are doing a Saturday evening event although we won't be particpating becuase we suck and are lazy.

This describes us exactly - missing church for one Sunday. And yes, the part about being lazy AND not doing as well in the competition as we thought we could. Maybe this next time will be different!
