Honestly, you never really know. However, if there is one place I would want to be in a hurricane (and I went through several when I lived there) is WDW. They really batten down the hatches and do a great job. Relax.
It's way too far out to predict even if there will be any tropical activity during that time frame, let alone where any of it will be going. As you get closer, you can check out this site: from the National Hurricane Center If there is anything going on (I think they start at the Tropical Depression stage), they'll have forecasts, 3 and 5 day cones, and the like.
I know that after last year, everyone is a lot more sensitive to and aware of hurricane season. My opinion is that no one can really predict too far out what is going to happen. At the same time, many thought that last year was a fluke. The best thing that I can recommend is to plan your trip and expect on having a good time. If weather does turn for the worst, then roll with the punches as Disney is a place to be when the weather hits.
The search function is like the Force. It may take practice, but the more you use it, the more control you will have over it!

We get the hurricane question a lot here on Mousepad. As already mentioned, there's no way to predict when or where a hurricane will hit more than a few days out.
Keep in mind that, even after last season, the chances of a hurricane crossing the Orlando area are pretty slim. And, if a hurricane does cross over the Orlando area, it's even more unlikely that it will be extremely intense. Lots of rain? Sure. Andrew-speed winds? No, the Orlando area is far enough away from the coast to allow hurricane winds to significantly dissipate.
So, if in the unlikely event a hurricane hits the Orlando area within the small window that you and your family are there, it will literally put a damper on things, but it won't be dangerous.
I lived in the Southeast for 15 years and weathered many hurricanes. The vast majority of them bring lots of rain and some wind. Therefore, flooding is the primary problem which Walt Disney World is very good at managing.
Hurricanes aren't very common in the Orlando area of Florida. With the busy season last year I can see why some are leary of coming during that time of year. However, that being said hurricanes are something that is closely monitored by the weather stations and we have adequate time to prepare for any should the need arise. WDW is literally in the middle of the state and as it has been mentioned here the chances of you getting anything more than some rain if one should cross over is very slim. So enjoy your vacation and don't worry! Have a great time!
Now me, I live on the west coast about 5 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico, so if you like you can check back here around the time you are scheduled to go, I usually post about any activity if there is any that might affect the Florida area otherwise just check the National Hurricane Center in the link provided in a previous post.

We're going back this month and I'm sure hoping for no hurricanes to mar our plans. However, by all accounts WDW is about the safest place to be in a hurricane.
I live in Florida (since I was a child) and I can tell you it isn't until about 24 hours before landfall they can narrow down where it will come ashore within a hundred miles and where it will go from there. If you are ninety miles away from the eye all you might get is severe rain. Most of the horror stories and pictures of destruction you see are where the storm comes ashore and Orlando is in the middle of the state. It's not like the worst can't happen but how much time are you spending worrying about lightening, car accidents or getting mugged?
