Pride and Prejudice trailer up on YahooMovies
Here is the trailer link. It looks like it will be a gorgeous film, but after reading a bit about it on some of the more hardcore Jane Austen sites, I'm a little more cautious than I was last night when I saw the trailer for the first time before Cinderella Man(I was practically levitating it looked sooo pretty.). I know hardcore fans are always critical of film adaptations, but it's going to be really hard to erase the memory of our beloved Colin as Mr. Darcy. The guy must really have some cajones to even attempt it, so I give him props for that. I know Judy Dench will rock as Lady Catherine, and Kiera Knightly is awesome. Here's hoping for the best!
Here are some production photos. It's going to be released in September.

Woo Hoo! Thanks for posting that link Lisa! I didn't even know they were making a new P&P...
Although, I daresay, I don't know that anybody can pull of Mr. Darcy as well as Colin Firth. And while I really like Kiera Knightly, I don't know that she can pull of Elizabeth as well as (Jennifer ?) The gal who did it in the A&E movie..
But I will be dragging DH to this one for sure!

Too bad we all don't live closer together--a P&P movie night would be so fun (and the poor husbands would be mercifully off the hook
.)
Yeah--the thing about the BBC production--it was a blessing and curse. They did such a good job of adapting the book, and Colin and Jennifer (Ehle) were so ingrained in our minds....every other adaptation will be playing catch-up. But hey--I'm going to give it a shot.

Me too. I'll definetly be seeing this.
Wouldn't a P&P movie night be fun..
I'll have to talk my husband into moving to Cali.

Yessssss! The trailer, at least, is good. 'Twas interesting to note that much of the music in the trailer was from Sense & Sensibility. Squeal.

*dreamy sigh* Keira Knightley is so pretty. I have to confess that I never saw the Colin Firth version. *dodges things being thrown at her from the official Colin Firth Mouse Pad Fan Club* My poor boyfriend, he's going to have to sit through both of them
Although it won't be hard to talk him into seeing the new one, he adores Keira Knightley even more than I do...

Maybe you could wait to see the definitive version (
) until after you've seen the Keira one. Then we can have at least one unsullied-by-Firth-lover's opinion.

What the woman says is true.
If you see the Colin Firth version first, you are most likely setting yourself up for disappointment when you see this new one.
The Colin Firth one is SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SOSOSOSOSOSO good though.
Did I mention it is SO SO good?

I agree!

I watched the trailer for this during the previews before Cinderella Man. At first I was thinking "Great, another Colin Firth romantic period piece set in England". But instead it's a Keira Knightley romantic period piece set in England. :roll eyes:
I have a stressful job.
But I love it.

Did this movie ever get released here in the U.S. in September? Or was that release date actually for the U.K? Or did the U.S. release date get pushed back?
I ask because I saw a Coming Soon Preview Trailer on this film with another film I saw the other day.
BTW, in several particular shots of Keira with her short black hair in the trailer, I couldn't help think of how strongly her facial characteristics resemble Winona Rider's at times. There were times in the trailer where I thought I was looking at Winona!

No, I made a mistake with that--I was looking at the UK website at the time--it was released in Sept. there, but will be out here in November. November
4th, I think?
Still crossing my fingers--the trailer is incredible.
