    Sad shape

It sounds like Disneyland is really in a sad ssate of repair (or Disrepair). It's sad that most SCHOOLS are taken care of better than this! For instance, our school is under major construction, and we were already a few million dollars in the hole!

One of the posters on MP addressed this issue with... addresses! It might be a good idea to take a look at this thread. It has good info.

They are taking the effort of refurbishing a large amount of attractions and other facilities and that's not cheap. Running a theme park (along with preventative maintenance) costs lots of money.

BUT . . . if our school can afford this new building, while being millions in the hole ( a bond referendum was passed, but still), and buying new computers for every room, I think that money rich Disney Corporation can at least afford to paint, and do simple preventative maintenance.

Schools are not businesses. Their ultimate goal is quality of education. If the board and voters agree that a new building will improve education, then you get a new building, regardless of cost (thus the bonds).

Disney is a business. They answer to the bottom line and profit. If they feel that the money spent on keeping the park 100% in shape would not bring in enough new profit to offset it, they're not going to do it.

Oh, and I suppose there's not enough of that to keep the place in decent shape when you charge just shy of 50 bucks a head to get in, $7 per car parked, $2 for a small bottle of water (as an indication of how much they rake in profit-wise in food and beverage sold). If these astronomical prices, and the profits they represent, cannot keep the money-machine in good working order, then the business is absolutely untenable. Maybe it's because they are sucking the profits out of Disneyland instead of putting them back into the Park to keep it running properly and enabling it to churn out a steady stream of money for the company. No, it's corporate vampirism instead, which will leave the park a hulking, undead, zombieland before too much longer of this ghastly treatment.

Hmmmmm, I am just wondering if you account for the numbers of people and the ages in both groups... (starting with everything perfect) which would fall into a state of disrepair faster? (lets say disrepair is major work needs to be done instead of a touch up)

Yes it is much harde for places like disneyland to stay pristine all the time (do you see tons of gum on the ground?) becuase the park is exposed to the elements all the time making stuff like the paint and so forth wear down much faster. Also just because each class is getting computer(s) doesn't mean much since they do discount the computers to the schools and in some cases (ex. Dell) they will go even lower but the computers use some "salvaged" parts.

the 500 million or so spent on FOX FAMILY.... could've fixed almost every complaint any of us have with Disneyland's state. but noooooooo.... Fox Family will allow Disney to have control of the worst set of programming on Earth!!!!!!!!!!!! And that, my friends, is worth half a billion dollars.
