Okay. So I never thought I would say this but Boca's Veggie Cheeseburger patty is good. Like, yummy. I am back on Weight Watchers (
I know) and they are only 1 Point.
Anyone have any other good veggie products that are worth trying?

I like GardenBurgers, too.

Good but high in sodium.
Hey, someone was gonna say it. Might as well be moi.
Insert passive aggressive sentence of your choice here.
I didn't look at the sodium content. I better check it out.
Andrew-GardenBurgers you say. Hm, might have to give those a try too. I have seen different flavors; do you recommend one in particular?
Emma is probably LHAO right now!
"The kind they sell at CostCo." I'm sorry, I don't remember what flavor that was! Jen didn't like them much, and we discovered turkey burgers there as well, so we switched.Originally Posted by rentayenta

I've heard from other WW members that the morning star farms veggie crumbles are good in things like chili and spag. sauce, but I havent personally tried them.

Try the Morning Star Farms Tomato Basil Burgers - They taste like a pizza burger!

I like Morning Star's Chik patties. There's also a parmesean Ranch that has a bit of a kick.

Morning Star's meatless products are pretty good.
I'm not a big fan of Boca burgers (a little to chewy for me) but some of the Garden Burger flavors are ok (not that I can remember which ones).
Back in college the dorm cafeteria sold a potato-based veggie burger (as opposed to grain or soy based) that was the best I've ever had, but I have no idea what brand it was.
I love Boca Burgers. I've only had the original vegan because I buy the big box at Costco and that's all they have, but they are so good. I disagree with the Gardenburger recommendation... yucko! Just too dry and grainy for me, I don't like them at all.
If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, you'll be able to find lots of yummy meatless products. Whole Foods is good too, but much more expensive.

renta,
Have you found the buns that are only 1 point too? If you put on a bunch of veggies, it's not too bad.
We do the fat free Bryan hot dogs too, also 1 pt. with the 1 pt bun.

Our family really likes TVP as a sub for hamburger. You can get it in different sizes, some are small like ground beef and some are larger like beef chunks. Since we aren't vegetarians I reconstitute it with beef soup base or beef broth. Then if you sub it in a recipe that calls for hamburger (or small chunks of beef) we feel it tastes just as good (although different) from beef. The cost of TVP varies widely but we can get a 50 pound bag locally for about $50. When it is reconstituted it absorbs 2-3 times (as I recall) its weight in liquid so 1 pound of dried TVP = 3-4 pounds of meat substitute. Not only it is healthy but at this price it is economical!! If you buy it in the little specialty boxes at the heath food store it gets much pricier though. We like TVP in spaghetti, sloppy joe casserole, tacos, etc.
We got hooked on the veggie burgers when Costco demo'd them cooked in Yoshida sauce- YUM!

Thanks for all of the great info. I ran the TVP thing by DH. Apparently he grew up eating TVP. They used it to make ground beef go further in recipes. He put the ixnay on using TVP.
I read that Morning Star Farms makes a good corndog too, any opinions?
I bought some Morning Star Farms sausage patties yesterday, I'm going to try them in a bit.
Boca Burgers and Gardenburgers are pretty tasty stuff. There's a couple of restaurants here in southern California that serve them. But they can be bought at the grocery stores as well and I've always been meaning to buy a pack, but they're expensive.
I have a stressful job.
But I love it.
The Morningstar corn dogs were good, but I remember them being a bit of a pain to cook??? They sat in the freezer for awhile until I eventually threw then out.
One plus for us (minus for the environment!) that Boca burgers have is they're individually wrapped!
OH and on sale and with a couponthey're not too expensive.

I'm doing wight watchers also. I have such a hard time getting all the points in for the day. I'm at 13 points right now...after dinner I will be at 18. I have to get to 24!! I could have ice cream, but that defeats the purpose of the diet. Also, I use the points for a regular frapachino and I had the light with no whip cream. Do you ever have trouble hitting your points target. I stopped going to meetings because when I brought this up they told me to go out and eat a pizza.....that really ANNOYED me!!Originally Posted by rentayenta
as for other veggie products...morning star has some good products. I love he veggie sausage..![]()
