New 50th Flower Mural At Entrance

Went to the park today and saw they were replacing the iconic Mickey face flower mural with the 50th logo. It looked VERY nice from what we saw - the surrounding area was not done yet so the walls were still up.

If you take the monorail you can see it VERY well - too bad we did not think about this till it was passing us and the line for the monorail was too long to hop on again since they only had one running today.

Also took more pics of the sub lagoon today they will be up soon. I will post when they are up and ready.

Poor Mickey! As much as I like the logo, this has gone too far! You can't take away the face of Mickey! What were they thinking!!!!

It looks like they're rinsing/sucking all the silt out of the bottom. Cool! Did you take those from the monorail station platform?

So does the logo that replaces the flower Mickey head counts as one of the Hidden 50s? Now that I think about it some more I wonder if the flower Mickey head counts as a Hidden Mickey.

That's pretty cool. It'll only be there for the 50th then it'll be Mickey again. It's nice to see that Matt's got the whole park decorated for the 50th. I don't even want to think what things would have looked like if the others were still in office.

Yup - I took them from one of the slits form the monorail station. I took a pic of the hole you can see here, the very last pic I took from the monorail.

What they were doing was spraying water on it, then after a bit the other guy sucked up the water.

And from the looks of the flower mural it may be done very very soon, but dunno when the walls will come down.

I have to say that I'm also dissapointed about it not being a mickey. But hopefully it looks decent when it's all finished. Also it is also sad that they only ran 1 monorail. Hopefully there is nothing wrong with the other(s). I don't know how many are left. With all of this talk about a emergency comeback of the peoplemover, but IMHO they should get the new line of monorails out.
