    A time for celebration?

'Deep Throat' to Be Re-Released in U.S. Theaters (Yahoo! News/Reuters, 2/8/05)

    Just what we need.
    I have a stressful job.
    But I love it.

I doubt it will screen that widely (a lot of multiplexes have commitments to not show NC-17 movies), but I am curious what would be left in an R-rated version.

As soon as I saw the headline I said to myself "probably because of the documentary" which turns out to be true. Though the documentary itself is rated NC-17 I hear it is pretty good. I have passes to see it tomorrow night, but probably won't bother to go into San Francisco to do so.

Those interested might also check out a couple other documentaries: Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy and Sex: The Annabel Chong Story. Of course, both require a certain tolerance for seenig pornography, but neither is a particularly flattering look at the industry.

    Isn't that interesting

What follows is for adults only.

I saw the documentary last week. I found it excellent (and you can find my review by doing a Yahoo! search on deep throat tod hunter) and urge anybody with the slightest interest to see it. It is very light on the pornographic content (although Linda Lovelace's specific talent is displayed, once) and spends most of its time discussing the context and impact of the movie.

I look forward to seeing Deep Throat again. I remember it as light-hearted and fun, and I wonder if I'll still think so.
