SEC says Disney broke disclosure rules (DIS) By Robert Schroeder
WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- The Walt Disney Company (DIS) agreed to stop violating securities laws after the Securities and Exchange Commission faulted the company for failing to disclose relationships between the company and its directors. Between 1999 and 2001, Disney didn't tell regulators the company employed three children of its directors, that the spouse of another director was employed by a subsidiary and withheld other information. The SEC did not say if Disney will pay a fine. Shares of Disney were at $27.50 in recent trading.
