    Slow Matterhorn

We were in DLR over the (crowded) Thanksgiving holiday. We were excited to see that the Matterhorn was up and running (most of the time). But then we noticed how slow it was going. Did anyone else notice this and/or take a ride on it lately? Was it as slow as it looked?

You Didn't ride the Matterhorn, to find out for yourself?

It was just refurbished, been closed for months, oh my gosh!

I rode it when it first reopened on last Tuesday night. It seemed a little jerkier, but not any slower. We went on both sides too. They added some fences along the track.

i love this ride..but find it too too jerky..I had hoped they might have fixed this problem with the refurbishment..but I guess this is just part of the ride

I like the jerkiness!! It adds to the authenticity of it being a bobsled ride!! Just ride with a "squishy" person and it doesn't hurt as bad!

P.S. I sure hope it's not any slower!!

I rode the Matterhorn this weekend, both sides, and it seemed exactly the same speed and jerkiness as always. The station is different and entirely refurbished; it looks brand new. The inside of the ride looks very clean and shiny, everything is working and sparkling.

The cars aren't spinning as fast, either.

    Slow Matterhorn

It has been 15 years since I went on this so I can't compare it to before rehab. I rode it twice in 45 minutes last Tuesday, Fantasy side first. This was the better side for me, seemed faster. Wait times were great, although it real busy on Wednesday. I loved the jerkiness, seemed like a real bobsled without brakes.

Sediment it really depends on what time of day you went on the ride and how many down times the had that day. The warmer the track is on that attraction the faster it seems to run. Was it a cooler day? During the summer on hot days it tends to run a little faster. So you maybe right! It may have been running slower then the last time you were on it. Also the weight of the sleds is a factor too.

Having rode both sides many times, the Fantasyland side is slower than the Tomorrowland side on a consistant basis.

It wouldn't be a bobsled ride if it was smooth.

Rode Matterhorn several times this past weekend, the ride seemed the usual speed, and the jerkiness did feel the same.

Well, they had just opened it when I was there, so maybe the tracks weren't slippery yet! I'm glad to hear that all is normal!

I rode the Matterhorn Bobsleds on Saturday...awsome! Both sides. It did not seem slower at all, just the same as it always has been. I rode the Matterhorn at night...even batter. Total darkness and because it was in the dark it seemed much faster, and the cool part is, the station got backed up so they put our bobsleds on the side track and as a result, we got a free second ride. The strobe light for the second Abominable Snowman was cool.

Matterhorn is my favorite DLR attraction, so of course I'm going to say that Matterhorn Bobsleds ins THE best Disneyland roller coaster.
