iTunes and playing off computer

OK guys ... I know you can burn a CD with itunes, but I've been told it will play only in my computer -- not in a CD player in my car or at home.
Does anyone know how I transfer it so it can?

Niwel, I don't know who told you that? I burn CD's all the time off my itunes list, I import the songs off cd's I buy or purchase the songs I want from the music store. Then I create my own 'favorites' play lists and burn them to CD for my car. I haven't had a problem listening to one yet. Now I have noticed on the inexpensive personal cd players some of them don't 'read' burned CD's as well as the player in my car or my nicer boom box does.

I have a couple other programs that burn CD's but I've found iTunes to be very user friendly.

I haven't used iTunes, but I've been given to understand that you can burn a normal CD-audio disc.

You can definatley burn CD's to use elsewhere. My wife and I created a cd with our favorite songs. We burned over 100 of them and gave them out at our wedding.

Yup. I'm pretty sure that the CD player has to be able to play CD-R/RW disks.

you are right, you cd player (in the house car or dvd player) Must be CD-R/RW readable or else it wont work. other than that you should have no problems.

I enjoy the I-tunes burn... It is easy to use... thought if you have 2 burners on your computer it get pickey and flip flops sometimes.... (DVD-external... and a CD-RW-built in.) otherwise it works well...

I bought a thing for my ipod so that I can play it in the car. It was $19 and it is just a simple cassette that plugs into my ipod and the tape goes in the tape deck. If your car has a tape deck, it is a great way to use your ipod. I created different driving play lists and I am all set!

If your car stereo doesn't have a cassette player, you have a couple of options.
1) The iRock Wireless Music Adapter plugs into the headphone jack of your iPod and tranmits a low-power FM signal, to which you tune your car stereo. Upside: Easy to use, inexpensive. Downside: Have to change the tranmitting frequency to avoid interference, loss of audio fidelity (downsampling from CD quality to FM radio quality), battery life not so good.
2) Aftermarket direct input adapters from RCAinput.com. They carry adapters for just about every current factory car stereo model. You plug the adapter into, again, the headphone jack on your iPod and it goes directly into your car stereo. Upside: Superior audio quality, solution designed specifically for your car stereo (which usually means you can adjust the sound directly from your stereo controls). Downside: Not cheap, extra wires in your car.
