    Great Airfare from Bay Area

Okay - if anyone out there in the Bay Area, CA is undecided about a DL trip in December - just thought I would share a really low airfare. We just booked on Alaska yesterday from Oakland to SNA 12/12 to 12/17 for $83 r/t (you have to take either morning or 1 pm flight). Thought I would post this info in case it might make a difference for someone on the fence about going!!

From San Francisco, San Jose or Oakland? To LAX or SNA? Did you find that rate through Expedia/Travelocity or did you go to the AA website?

American and Alaska are affliated (or whatever term the airlines use). American has the same airfair for 12/12 - 12/17 as Alaska - different flight numbers but are "operated by Alaska" so check both when looking. I was curious about the SFO and SJC so looked them up on American. From SFO, same dates and about the same times was $371!! And from SJC it was $151! We always fly out of OAK to SNA - seems to be the lowest fares. And I was check the airlines website directly - I believe Expedia charges a $5 processing fee on tickets.

Hey, everyone, try sidestep.com. They compare ALL airlines including the low-fare airlines like JetBlue and Southwest. Expedia, Travelocity etc don't include those low fares. Just thought you would like to know. . .

There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day!

It was form San Jose to SNA and I bought them from the AA site. I should also point out that when I checked the rate before I had enrolled in thier AAdvantage thing it cost a bit more. So you have to be an AAdvantage member to get that rate but I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to since it's free.

    southwest

I just booked Southwest Airlines from Oakland to LAX for $39.00 each way ($78.00 roundtrip). With tax and everything it came out to about $198.00 for two of us both ways - i believe this rate is good flying out of San Jose, too. If you don't mind flying in to LAX, it's a great rate.

Jet Blue has $39 each way also from Oakland to Long Beach. We booked that for December 4-8. Southwest didn't have a special when we were booking our tickets. I've heard great things about Jet Blue though and the shuttle, taxi's, and limo services are just about the same price. Long Beach Airport is only 18 miles from the Disneyland Resort.

I like to fly American from San Jose to Orange County when we fly. In fact, that is what we are flying on come October 9th.

Going over to Oakland...even for that price...would be too much of a hassle, as I live in between SFO and San Jose. In fact...I have never even been to the Oakland airport. I guess I would just rather pay another $20 per ticket...to get to a closer airport.

But, thanks for the tip on the cheaper airfare. I am flying for $49 per person, one way, on AA...

That's the same day I'm flying down there. Wouldn't it be funny if we were on the same plane?

Hey sami869 and mad4mky...are you two both taking the 7:30 a.m. flight on AA out of San Jose on Oct. 9 to go to MA? That's the same flight we've been thinking about taking! But we'll probably end up driving down Friday night to save money.

My little brother usually doesn't wake up until 11 or noon so the 7:30 flight was too early. We're taking the 8:30 flight.
