    Old Disneyland Sign

I've always kinda wondered this question: why did they take down the original D-Land sign on Harbour Blvd? I remember seeing it when I was down there in 1990 for the 35th, but then I didn't go again till 1999, and it was history. Was it due to the DCA idea or just construction on Harbour? There may be a simple answer that everyone knows...I've just never heard it. I've only become a Disneyland fan since 1999.

    John Stamos reportedly owns it.

Well it was a Disneyland sign, and now it is the Disneyland Resort. I think they could have moved it to the Disneyland side, I loved that sign!

Hmmm I thought he only owned part of it...maybe the whole thing though...I had thought that they broke it up into individual letters and each was sold separately. whatever. I just know I was saddened to see it go and never understood the need to remove a piece of history.

John Stamos? As in "Uncle Joey"? Yikes!!! I never heard that before. What does an ex-Full House star need with one of the greatest signs in history? Unbelievable. What's next...giving the Matterhorn to Alan Thicke? Ha!

Sorry, but he was "Uncle Jesse."

According to the divorce papers, he owns only half of it.

It was the sign for the entrance to the parking lot, and there probably was no room for it along the route to the new parking structure.
Putting it on top would have been an interesting option.

Apparently he's a huge fan, and paid well into 6 figures for it *shrugs* who knew?

(but again, I had thought the 6 figs were for the 'D' only...but I may be way wrong.)
