We're heading down to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort with some friends in July. We've got a two-bedroom and a studio, and we're on the waiting list to upgrade to a three-bedroom Grand Villa. We've got a total of five adults, and three boys, ages 3, 5.5, and 8. We know the general info about the resort and a little about what we can do away from the resort, but no real concrete stuff. We've read Sue Holland's articles and trip reports and looked at a bunch of other stuff online, but I'm looking for some first-hand hints.
As I'm the only golfer in the group and I haven't been on the course in about five years, that's not an activity that we're planning (though mini-golf is). None of us are really big shoppers, though I'm sure that we'll go souvenir hunting at some point. We all love eating, though we're trying to keep the budget down. (The full-size van that we're renting for the Virginia-to-HHI-and-back leg of the trip is costing us enough.)
The five of us from upstate NY are driving down to Virginia where the other three live, renting a full-size van, and we're all travelling together the rest of the way. We're looking for a fun, low-key vacation with lots of relaxation and hang-around-talking time. Some adventures would be good, though.
So those are the parameters. Anybody been there and able to give suggestions? Thanks in advance!
