With all the postings of "walking distance" and "saving money", I thought it would be convenient to take a "snap shot" of the "competition" to Disneyland regarding SHUTTLE BUS service.
Anaheim Resort Transit (A.R.T.) shuttle fares
<< per my lookup today, 2/02/17, on their website - http://rideart.org/ >>
***
ADULT [older than 9]
1 day = $5.50
3 day = $14.00 (equiv. to $4.66 per day)
(If pre-paid, via mail, the 3-day pass is even lower, $12.00.)
***
CHILD [3 to 9 years old]
1 day = $2.00
3 day = $3.00 (equiv. to $1.00 per day)
***
A.R.T. also has a "senior citizen" fare of $1.00.
Personal note: I use a walker, and I rent an ECV at Disneyland. So A.R.T. has a "disabled" fare of $1.00 for people like me.
Bottom line:
Sure, if you can get a hotel room on Harbor Blvd., south of W. Ball Road, and north of W. Katella Avenue, that's great.
But if not, then I see nothing wrong with choosing a hotel which is farther away from the DL entrance plaza, but close to an A.R.T. stop.
Closing thought:
Parking fee in TOY STORY lot or MICKEY & FRIENDS structure is $18.00.
Do the math: 18 - 5.50 = $12.50 in savings.
One more idea:
Take the Metrolink train or Amtrak train to the "ARTIC" station (Katella Ave., between ANGEL STADIUM and HONDA CENTER) and take the A.R.T. shuttle to/from DL.
