    Any DVC members here?

My wife and I joined the Disney Vacation Club with the new Saratoga Springs resort at WDW while on the Disney Cruise this past September. I haven't had a chance to talk to many other members, and was wondering if...and I'm sure there MUST be...people here who are also members and what their experiences have been like with the DVC?

I'm also a Disney nut like most on here, living in the Southern Cal area, and so yes, I've been to DL more times than I can count...and am one of the few who actually LIKE the DCA!

edit: oops...thought I had posted this elsewhere, but apparently not.

We are still DVC members, even though we have moved next door. I think it is a wonderful program, even when it requires some planning. We have used our points at all the existing DVCs except Hilton Head, plus Disneyland, and we certainly saved what it would have cost to stay at *those* resorts if we had paid cash, even with all available discounts. They are very nice resorts. Are there other places to stay that might be nicer and cost less out of pocket? Not onsite. For us, it has been a good deal.

I am looking forward to visiting Saratoga Springs. It looks wonderful!

Member since 1995. We own points at Old Key West and Vero Beach. My next trip is *just* too early to go to Saratoga Springs. I'd love to be able to get in there and compare it with the real place (a 45-minute drive from here).

We've done all sorts of configuration with our points. We've stayed 15 nights with just us, we've stayed 5 nights with 23 people in 4 villas, we've used points at the Grand Californian and at a Concierge Collection hotel about an hour and a half from here. We love it, and I'd never think of giving our points up. (Unless maybe I lived on property.)

We bought into the Beach Club Villas in July 2002 and we've visited twice (BCV). I am very happy with the individualized service provided by Member services and the special offerings help us plan our trips. We're heading for the Boardwalk Villas in February -a first for us. Three trips in less than a year, we've really made good use of our points and annual passes.

We have been members since 1997 (OKW). We love DVC! We have used our DVC to do a lot, including getting married on the Disney Cruise Line!

Married on DCL?!?! That's awesome! I think we're going to be using a LOT of our points in the near future. This year doesn't lend too much in the way of vacation time, so we're doing a week in WDW, then banking everything left to next year and doing the cruise plus a winter trip to Utah.

Good to see no negative comments yet too, thanx everyone!

We have been members at WL since 2000 and just added on 100 pts at BCV during our trip this May. The only sad part is that we don't get to go too often since it's all the way across the country for us, and between the cost of the airfare and the 1 1/2 days' worth of travel it takes to get there, we only make it about every other year

Next year we are heading down for two 5day stretches with a 3 day cruise in-between.... woohoo!

bubbasmom99 - I like the way you vacation! I want to go on your vacation! It sounds like you all will have a lot of fun!

moxin - the only negative we have found is that you become addicted to points! You always want more, and more, and more!

Yeah, that's what has my wife worried. We purchased 210 points to start, but I can already see the need for more in the future.

I'm a DVC member who owns at Hilton Head and I have visited all except OKW and the new Saratoga Springs.

DVC is truly amazing and if or when you have children, they will definately benefit from it. The program is absolutely wonderful!

    Welcome Home!
