Just a quick heads up to those of us lucky enough to be in the design business, but cursed enough to be frustratingly limited to designing anything BUT theme parks, there's a new book written by David Younger titled Theme Park Design, (Inklingwood Press, 2016) that is itself so immersive, that after only the first chapter, it's hard to put down.
This isn't a book filled with photos, illustrations, or charts. It's a detailed description, in words, of the numerous aspects of how theme parks are conceived, detailed, and built. The focus is heavily in favor of Disney Parks, but candidly mentions other Parks alongside their rich uncle's. If you're a devoted Disney fan, insider of sorts, or just passionate about design, this is a must have.
