Spotlight. Intense, but really good. Was sorry when it ended.

The Jungle Book (2016) Very good. The story had a darker edge to it, than the animated version, but it was more fleshed out.

Rogue One... really liked it and was blown away that they did what they did with one character in particular. I won't spoil it for anyone who has not seen the film. We saw the film New Year's Eve and then we all watched A New Hope on New Year's day just to tie it all together better for us.

"Hidden Figures" - What an absolutely amazing film. Terrific script, wonderful performances all around. The theatre we were in was quite crowded, which makes me happy. Definitely a film that should be seen. I'm hoping that after its theatrical run, that it's shown in schools as well. A good, educational, entertaining film.

Please don't ask me how I feel, I feel fine.
Oh I cry a bit, I don't sleep too good, but I'm fine

That one's on our must see list. Saw the trailer for the first time tonight which really increased our interest in this movie.

"La La Land" -- loved this. All the references to classic movies and musicals made me teary. Loved the shot of Emma Stone with the balloons in front of the Arc de Triomphe -- pure "Funny Face"! Also loved the ending -- such a tribute to "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg." Sniff, sniff... Was reminded of Gene Kelly in so many of the dance sequences, e.g. choreography, camera angles, etc. Wasn't surprised at all to see Patricia Kelly, Gene's widow, named in the end credits.

    Bad Moms
Another potentially good and funny movie spoiled by way too much foul language.
(Yea, I know it was rated R, and I dont mind that, but at some point you have to say "come on....")

Dead Poets Society. I remembered it as a great movie. But it wasn't as fabulous as I expected. CBNT called it predictable and I think I agree with him.

Florence FosterJenkins I wanted to see this because the trailer reminded me of the same type of comedy as The Grand Budapest Hotel. But even though the trailer made it seem to be a comedy. It was tragic and disturbing. It was beautifully filmed and acted and Simon Heiburg (Howard on BBT) completely stole the film with his amazing performance. Also the film is based on a true story. However, I can't shake it and will not be seeing it again.

Agree that that movie was a very unusual combination of comedy and tragedy. Such a sad life for this poor woman, and yet such a ludicrous world that she had created for herself. Thought Meryl Streep did a fantastic job of showing the ridiculous with the heartbreak. Hugh Grant and Simon Heiburg were wonderful, seamless support in her fantasy world. Must say, after the scene of the potato salad in the bath tub, I will never look at potato salad quite the same way again.

The Innocents -- beautifully telling of a painful story. Very good acting, love the cinematography and the lighting. Based on true events -- cannot imagine what those women had to go through.

Finally got to see Rogue One.
Thought it was very good and fits well in between Ep3 and Ep4.
It was funny how my son thought the soundtrack could have been better, though... and I kinda agreed. Yea, nit picky, but its a detail.

We finally got to see it, too! Enjoyed it very much. Loved seeing Felicity Jones get to be fierce! (Last time we saw her was in "The Forgotten Woman" with Ralph Fiennes -- definitely not an action movie.) Funny how impressions can differ: we both like the soundtrack for this movie much better than we did the music for "The Force Awakens." This score just seemed more memorable to us.

"Elle" - It did not go at all how I expected it. Definitely a very dark film. Terrific performances, though.

"Vera Drake" -- love Mike Leigh movies. This one did not disappoint. Definitely adult subject matter. Imelda Staunton is a wonder.
