Anyone a soap opera fan?

Well, I watch All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital. I love those soaps. I can't watch every episode but I try to watch a few a week just ot be up to date with what's going on. Plus I have Soapnet and they re-run them all on the weekends. I have been watching GH since I was about 12 years old during the time Luke and Laura met. Any other fans out there?

I tend to go through stages, where I won't watch them, but it is usually when the storylines start to drag on and on.

The only one I've consistently paid attention to is As The World Turns. I remember when Meg Ryan was Betsy and Marissa Tomei was Frannie's best friend (what WAS her name??) I haven't watched it in the past few years though. Now we watch Mister Rogers at 1:00.

She is going to tell the baby it is adopted, right? Now, how sad is that, since SHE is the mother? Or, are they planting the seeds for the storylines of the future? I mean, think of all of the storylines coming from her keeping the baby.

And, what is up with Ryan kissing everyone?

Oh, just what is on my mind.......

Oh, it's never gonna get that far. I expect everyone to find out that she's pregnant with Michael's child. I'm waiting for Erica's and Kendall's reactions.

Just General Hospital, but it's an on-off thing for me that began in the summer of '94, when Kevin and Lucy first hooked up. Man, I miss them. Actually, I watched straight through until they switched the actress who plays Carly...with that, they also started messing up the great dynamic the couple has (the writing changed, I mean). Anyway, now I'm actually rooting for Carly and Alcazar! If they get together, it would create an interesting triangle, and I might consider watching on a more regular basis again.

That is true. Actually, Kendall did find out, Thursday I think. If you have SoapNet you can catch up tomorrow. I need to as well since yesterday was Halloween, I missed it.

Ah, OK. I'd read that Kendall was going to find out, but I didn't know if it was this week. I haven't had a chance to watch my tape of Thursday's and Friday's shows yet.

Well Kendall just got arrested today for trying to kill Ryan with poison.

I started watching Ryan's Hope with my mom when I was five and I remember actually CRYING when it went off the air.

I was hooked on General Hospital from the time I can remember--and once when I was on vacation with my grandma, during the whole Weather Machine thing in the early 80's, I had to come in from the beach for an hour everyday to watch GH in the hotel room. I loved Luke and Laura and Holly and Duke and Anna and all that. I miss that era SO much.

I have watched regularly: All My Children, One Life to Live and Young and the Restless.

Now I can't imagine actually watching any of them. I get so bored. I remember when I was contemplating staying home with the girls instead of working, I thought......ooh, I'll watch GH. And I think I've watched maybe one episode in three years!

**BUT** I gotta tell you that when our cable system changed and they did away with the Soap Network, or whatever that channel is, and I couldn't watch Knots Landing twice a day anymore, I seriously went through MAJOR withdrawals. I was devastated. So if I can find the entire thing on DVD, or even a few seasons.......I'll NEVER COME UP FOR AIR. I LOVE THAT SHOW.**

Oh, yes, that was "The Ice Princess" story line. It was great! I loved that era too, very exciting plot.

I will say, though, that they picked a hot little guy for his roll, after so many doofuses. No offense to said doofi. Remember when he wouldn't talk? Or the actor that did talk but looked like he belonged back in Pigeon Hollow?

I have watched AMC since it came out, sneaking off at school to a room with a t.v. in high school, or, coming home at lunch in grade school!! Back then it was just a half hour, just enough time.

But now, since I have soapnet, I don't sit glued to the t.v. I have it on at noon but just keep doing what ever it is I am doing. If something really great happens, I will focus on it at 5.

Nowadays, I try not to sit here {at computer} too long, or, stay on the phone too long, or watch t.v. much.

And, while catching a moment of 'Desperado' {with Antonio Banderas} I realized Juan Pablo is a AB knock off, isn't he?

Yes, I agree about the thing with Mary and Jaimie is very gross. Yuck!

I am actually really happy that Bianca is supporting Kendall. I always thought that Kendall got a raw deal. I always felt really bad for her. The fact that Erika has shunned her all her life because she was a product of rape just was not fair to Kendall. Personally I am getting sick and tired of Erika always being so mean to her and thinking the worse. So, the fact that Bianca finally realized that Kendall is a loving and caing person is great.

Juan Pablo is kind of like a Antonio Banderas light. Very thick accent. I wonder if it's fake.

I must say that I really don't like that Babe girl. And what kind of a name is Babe?? Good God. What is J.R thinking?
I also have a problem with the secret hallways in Chandler's house. That makes no sense. All this time anyone can go into the walls and listen to everyone's business in their own rooms and the living room? Wouldn't Chandler have filled the passageways up by now considering how is always up to some secretive plans.

I fastforward through the Mary/Jaime stuff. And I've never been particularly fond of Carlos or Juan Pablo. Again, mostly fast forward. I tape AMC every day and watch the storylines I care about and fastforward through the rest. Sometimes, a day's show only takes me 10 minutes to get through, though not lately. I'm also subscribed to a soap magazine, and there's a website I like for daily updates, so I'm covered.

Interested to see when Babe's mom Krystal shows up and to see what chemistry she has with Tad. She's being played by someone who was recently on "The Bold and the Beautiful".

Well on today's episode, Lena admitted that she put the poison in the pills to kill Cambius. So looks like she may go to prison for a long time.

Babe, the slut, came on to Jaimie. I don't like her at all.

Yep, I wonder how much trouble Lena has gotten into. And, Babe is just too much. What I will hate is if they keep her around and then try to make her character likeable.

Oh, speaking of B & B, I saw a commercial and what is this deal with Ridge and Brooke, a baby and another guy? I don't recognize the other guy........And, how could Ridge marry her???

Sammy Jo. But I liked Sammy Joe better than Babe. This actress is not anywhere as good as Heather Locklear was. At least with Sammy Jo, I loved to hate her. With Babe I just want her gone.

I've not seen two seconds of the show. I only know everything I know about the show from reading the weekly synopses. Weird to only know a show that way.

Hmmm, there are a few baby stories in there. Brooke's youngest child (Hope?) is the baby she had when she had an affair with her daughter's then-husband, Deacon. Deacon also had a child (Little Eric) with someone else but who was living with Brooke's son Rick and his then-wife Amber, but Deacon fought for custody, and when Deacon married Macy (after Macy divorced Thorne after discovering that Thorne had a one-night thing with and impregnated Macy's friend), Macy encouraged Deacon to fight for his children, and they ended up getting custody of Little Eric, which freaked out both Amber and Rick. But, when Macy got hit by a falling chandelier (I kid you not) a little while ago and is now in a coma, Deacon is taking care of Little Eric by himself, and Amber has offered to help.

From reports, the writers had said they weren't sure where to go next with the character, so there didn't seem to be much for her to do in the near future. She asked to be let out of her contract with B&B to audition for Krystal, which they agreed to. So yes, if they ever want to do something again with Macy, they'd have to recast, at least as long as Bobbie Eakes is on AMC.

Over on OLTL, Ben is still in a coma because his portrayer, Mark Derwin, is on the nighttime sitcom "Life with Bonnie", which is doing well. There's been talk of recasting Ben, but nothing yet. Now that Viki is looking to possibly be in some sort of new relationship, maybe they'll wait until that goes somewhere before bringing Ben back to complicate things.

Yeah, I had a hard time following that whole thing when reading the synopses. From the same family (Forrester), Brooke has been married to the dad and two sons, and there have been times when she didn't know whether the dad or the son fathered her child. It was unknown for a while whether Bridget was Eric's or Ridge's daughter, so Ridge was either going to turn out to be Bridget's father or brother. How weird is that? And then the whole two-second romance between Bridget and Ridge? Major EWWWWWW.

That is right. I hadn't seen OLTL in a long time. I thought he was dead {Ben}. Wow. Yeah, they will have to settle that if Viki is going to have a relationship story. True, if she gets involved and he comes back, that is a story there.

Brooke is such a floozy. Yes, how do you follow that story? Moreso, how can they continue to put her in story lines like that? Are the writers viewers of Jerry Springer??? Oye vey!
