Hi Tater - we just got back - it looks like you're staying at the Wilderness Lodge. We had lunch at the Whispering Canyon cafe on Sunday. If you plan on eating there and you get a server named Anthony - RUN AWAY as fast as you can! I have never had a customer service experience at WDW, or anywhere for that matter, that was worse than Anthony's service. How bad was it? Without going into all the graphic details our lunch took 3 1/2 hours. He was obviously extremely slow even though we asked him to start rushing things after 1 1/2 hours. We missed 2 fast pass+ reservations because of his service, including one for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! I was very unhappy to say the least.

On the flip side of the coin, his management, and the management at the Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom stepped up to make things right. At the Wilderness Lodge they fixed the fast pass+ situation by giving us fastpasses that we could use at any time that day. Unfortunately, when we got back to the Magic Kingdom it was about 5:00 and they closed at 7:00 for MVMCP, so we didn't have too much time to use them. We were also having some issues with some Memory Maker photos that got lost (of course they were the ones from meeting Anna and Elsa). So as we were leaving the park at 7:00 we stopped by the Town Square Theatre to see if they could help us out. We ended up telling them about our issues at Lunch. Carolyn, who is one of the managers there, gave us passes to the MVMCP, which we were not planning on attending. She reasoned that since we lost so much time in the afternoon, she'd give it back to us that night. That put a little pixie dust back in our day after a rough afternoon. I'm planning on writing to Disney's customer service department to tell them both the good and the bad.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread - I just wanted to make sure that you don't suffer the same fate we did!

Thanks for the info, nice getting the MVMCP passes! Did you happen to see the pool at WL or hear any info on if they might be finished with it early?

The pool and most of the courtyard are still under construction. From what I saw it didn't look like it would be completed for you

On the plus side - make sure you check out the Carolwood Pacific room at the Villas. You can see two of the original train cars from Walt's backyard railroad. That was very cool to see. There's also a lot of pictures and info about his railroad there.

Wow - 3.5 hours for lunch is ridiculous! I think I'd be talking to the manager at 1.5 when you asked him to hurry things along.

My count down - not enough, yet too much! 48 days!

Too long at WDW for sure. But that's about right for the Sterling Brunch at Bally's in Vegas!

So no one knew about Bilbo Baggins and his upcoming appearance in The Hobbit; Battle of the Five Armies?

Okay this should be easier. How about a group of unusual people banded together to fight evil, domestic and intergalactic?

You are correct! I was going to go with Four Rooms, but not sure how many Tarantino fans there are in this crowd...

The amazing CM that checked us in said we could get Blizzard beach passes. Well if y'all read my last TR, you may know that I don't really care for Blizzard Beach. So I asked if we could get MVMCP in place of the BB passes. He said no, that is was pool for pool kind of thing. But he could give me $50.00 a day credit back to my room. (said while hinting on using that to buy the MVMCP tickets) So not only did I get extra spending money, but we are going to MVMCP tonight. Also we drove all night, leaving earlier than we expected. But we went to WL to check in, knowing a room wouldn't be ready yet. Well the only request I had for my room was 6th floor, facing MK. There were no rooms available. But he did have a 2nd floor room over looking the villa's pool that was ready right then and that the room we wanted would be ready on today. Well we did the whole move to another room thing, which was a bit of a pain but worth it. We have an awesome view from the 6th floor and can even see the castle if you look between two pine trees.

I would imagine the giant computer operated by animatronic Roy under city hall has already ordered extras to restock in our wake!

Oh and today's count - how many Andrews brothers about to be loosed on the resort?

  21. #45

Thanks! Looking forward to the mad dashes for high-demand attractions, relaxed shows like Carousel and spending time with family.
