    2015 Expedition Everest Challenge

Well, while there has been no official update on the runDisney site, the Disneyland Half Marathon official program has May 1st and 2nd, 2015 listed for Expedition Everest. Always subject to change but looks like the rumors of EE's demise may have been premature.

Not the best news from runDisney regarding the future of EE. The runDisney CM I chatted with said that a decision has not been made as to whether or not to bring the race back again for 2015. She said that similar to Tower of Terror which started out as a 13k race, EE may evolve into a different race and distance.

    We will see.

Snap dragon. Sweet girl's B-Day is May 2nd. The DH and DD weren't big fans of race weekend at DL. However, they are big puzzle people and thought EE sounded like a fun b day adventure for the family.

Nothing is for sure yet but it's one to watch. I found it interesting that the PDF of the 2014 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend Official Program has EE listed but the actual hard copy program they handed out at the expo does not.

I will be sad the day it changes. EE is what hooked me with Run Disney, of course getting a plaque from them helped a little.

Looks like EE will be back for 2015 but is not listed as a 2016 event. While the 'are they or aren't they' decision to host the race by runDisney seems to be a yearly event, I would not put off taking part in this race if you are at all interested in adding EE to your list of completed runDisney events.

Registration for the 2015 event opens December 16, 2014. More details to follow!

So, is the runDisney website just having an issue this morning or has 2015 EE disappeared from their list? I didn't see it this morning and when I pinged the link I had saved it now says SORRY.

Talked to the folks at the runDisney booth. They weren't aware that EE was off the site. They checked and then got on the phone. By this afternoon, it was back up.

AP early registration sold out this morning and DVC early reg capacity was reached yesterday. If you are interested in 2015 EE, the next opportunity to sign up will be during open registration on 12/16 @ 12:00 p.m. EST. Remember, this is a very small event compared to the other runDisney races so consider there will be fewer spots available.

One last reminder that registration for the 2015 (and FINAL) Expedition Everest opens this Tuesday December 16th at 12:00 p.m. EST / 9:00 a.m. PST.

Given the confirmation this is the final event, expect that registration will sell out faster than normal so if this is one you're interested in doing, make sure to be online and ready when registration goes live.

Lorree, I just checked for you and it's 10:25, and it's sold out! (I'm just happened to check just now, so it could have sold out earlier). I wonder if announcing it's the final one got people to move on it, or if it's more that people were interested in everything runDisney related that got the registration numbers going.

    - Spring MouseAdventures: Decades advanced: our goal? to finish. mission accomplished!
    - december 09 reindeer games: 26th place, & drenched all the way through!
    - spring 09 mouse adventure (train, trams, and monorails): advanced division, with a newbie! the dominoes and the jigsaw puzzle nearly killed us!
    - fall 08 mouse adventures: third place in the 101 division!

we're 24 days from the final Expedition Everest Weekend - anyone besides Mark running EE for the last time?

Final race instructions are available on the runDisney site. It looks like waivers are also available but not seeing an active link.

Yeah, I tweeted to rD about the waiver issue, no answer yet. I think that they already consider this thing dead. All of the iGiftBag stuff is still dated 2014. I just hope that we still get to run. Sad that it's come to this, but I guess they need to expand the park and no race is going to get in the way.

They're awful busy signing up people for races that are MONTHS away, why be concerned with the event that is weeks away?

Seriously. Still nothing for EE but Tinker waivers and corrals are out weeks early. Sad way to end EE as it's really appearing to be an afterthought.
