    off to neverland...

I was looking at the full course map from it looks like mile 25 goes around The World Showcase. What time will the rest of WS open? We're trying to figure out Epcot lunch ressies. We'll be at BLT so we'll probably just get up and cheer our peeps on from in front of the Contemporary and then make our way over to Epcot on the Monorail for the finish.

The WS opens at 11, but I think you can still go there to spectate before then.

Drince88 posted this in the Race Capacity forum. Wow...

    They're doing a Goofy giveback!!!

We are excited to announce the "Goofy Giveback." Starting today we are taking a limited number of Goofy registrations, breaking up the challenge and opening up additional individual registrations for the 2015 Walt Disney World Half Marathon and Marathon. Learn more here

I guess that's one way to get Goofy to sell out - decrease the number of registrations!

Everyone get their first email message from runDisney for the WDW Marathon weekend? We are 96 days (!) until the events!

Where in the world did 2014 go?

No! Anything important? For some reason my email account black holes runDisney stuff - it doesn't go into spam either, it just never arrives.

Mine does the same thing with Rock n Roll emails. Frustrating.

Nothing major. Theme park tickets are available. Deadline to submit proof of time is 10/10/2014. Reminder of the new packet pickup policy. Training Tips from Galloway.

By the way, Jeff Galloway was at ToT last night and he mentioned to the race attendees that the Goofy Give Back consisted of a 1,000 Goofy spots back to the WDW half and marathon. Trying to drum up business as registration seems to have stalled again now that the 1,000 half spots are sold out.

This week we secured airfare, upgraded Doc's AP to Premier and took a chunk out of the vacation fund savings account. He's told his recruiter that any job offer has to come with the understanding that he will need time off in January, even if he has to take it as unpaid vacation.

runDisney wasn't kidding - the Goofy Giveback's last day was Friday 10/24. As of this morning, both the 2015 WDW Marathon and the Goofy Challenge are now listed as SOLD OUT.

Sweet! If you're slow enough, I'll be in Epcot cheering! (I don't promise to be there an hour after the gun goes off to catch the speedsters!)

    2015 WDW Marathon Weekend

You can add me to the Dopey list (And because I like dumb running challenges I'm doing the 3 Star Wars races at disneyland the following weekend!)

I couldn't find anything on Disney's website, or in the past articles about the full marathon - but I have two questions:
1 - Running through the racetrack - is it on the sloped (cambered) part of the track, or is it relatively flat?
2 - On the 'food' stations - what do they offer? What's the history of running out? I'm presuming for the 12 mile one, it's probably Clif Shots - but there's also food stations at about 15.5, 18.5, 19.5, and 22.5. Are they all only Clif Shots?

I've tried Clif shots before, but landed on Gu - even though I didn't have issues with the Clif Shots - so I'm thinking about switching back during these last couple of months of training so I don't have to carry so much on me. (If I don't train with it, I'd only take one if I was desperate.)

    1. You can run at the bottom of the track, which is not cambered.
    2. Past "other food" has been orange slices and bananas. The aid station at mile 22.5 (next to Tower of Terror) is Hershey's minis (milk chocolate, Mr. Goodbar, Krackle, etc.). I can't comment about them running out.

    Thank you ma'am!
Those I don't think I need to worry about. If they 'sound good' at the time, I'll take one.

Done! And I'm heading over to Star Wars to add you there as well.

I did the Dopey / Tinker Bell 71 miles in 11 days 'castle-to-castle challenge' last year. Exhausting but waaaaay fun. You will enjoy it.

Anyone else we're missing on the list?
