6 days until travel, 8 days until WDW...

That's exactly what I thought when I planned this trip. The Universal part of the trip came about because their "value" resort (Cabana Beach) opened and the 2nd half of H.Potter's province arose around the same season. Hoping all goes well for the 9+ days in the parks (longest trip in Orlando so far...)
Wishing i could be at WDW...

    87. Funny thing. Every day my countdown gets a wee bit shorter, even if I have to go to work!

4 days until departure, 7 days until setting foot on WDW property! Definitely to the point where I can't forget we'll be going...and constantly (mentally) giggling...! (...between thoughts of "am I packing too much or too little...")
Wishing i could be at WDW...

I'm with you on the "slow it down" part... The trip planning and anticipation is a good part of the fun of going on a MAGICAL vacation! With that said, we are just ONE work day away from our trip to USO (2.5 days) and WDW (7 days)! (Our first DUO-theme park experience)

This reminds me that there is 1 key benefit to staying off property at a time share... There are no SAD envelopes (DME) the last day when you get back, or looming in the hallway of other people's doors.

Seriously...1 in 1000 DME envelopes should include a golden ticket for another 3 day trip...just to take the edge off opening them... Lol

Well we don't use DME, but they could put it on my pillow.

    26 to go!

"Although we think it's DOPEY that Pluto has been downgraded to a dwarf planet, which has made some people GRUMPY and others just SLEEPY, we are not BASHFUL in saying we would be HAPPY if Disney's Pluto would join us as an 8th dwarf. We think this is just what the DOC ordered and is nothing to SNEEZE at."

Yes to this! 259 days to go for my quick four night stay, which means 263 days until I get the dreaded door-hanger.

My last three trips this summer have all been really last minute, and as such I've missed out on the planning stage. Now I'm enjoying it again, with a few weeks before my birthday trip in late September. And you're right - the anticipation is a big part of the fun!

Now they're emailing that last day invoice to you. MUCH nicer than getting the envelope on the door!

Really? That's awesome. I always feel like I'm going to lose the packet of stuff in all my last minute rearranging of bags.

I always hated seeing those envelopes in the hallways...made the end of the trip always loom too close for comfort.

How is it working out with using the MB for DME instead of a paper ticket?

For me it hasn't worked out that well. I have a Premier pass, and Disney is still having trouble tying the pass to the Band. Of my last 5 trips, all using the Band, only once has the Premier pass been properly tied to the Band. It's not really a big deal - I use the physical Premier card for park admission and FP+'s, and then the Band for room access and purchases. A couple times they've tried to make changes and ended up deleting the password on my band, meaning that I couldn't make any room charges at all till they fixed it. I guess there just aren't enough of the Premier passes out there to warrant them doing a permanent fix.

    4 months

    120 days until we leave
    82 working days

Starting to get even more excited!!!!!!!!!

BTW - I reintroduced my wife to the DanYoung trip reports last night. She was up 1/2 the night reading them. I started reading them before our trip last October & your recommendation of the beef filet at Hollywood Brown Derby was EXCELLENT!!!

Dan, I am sure others have expressed this (and I won't be as eloquent), but THANK YOU for the labor of love you put into each of them. They are insightful, helpful, educational and have really given us some great ideas. Reading them helps get me excited for the MAGIC

Wow - thanks for the kind words. I've gotten to the point where I'm really writing the reports for me, so I can look back and see what a good time (or what a bad time) I've had!

And don't forget making the rest of us look bad for not writing trip reports!
