For those interested, the 2001 Studio Day held at Dave's Video in Studio City will be from 10am to 1pm on Saturday September 29. Last year's laserdisc/DVD-fest was pretty interesting, and you can read about it here. In addition to the meet-and-greet in the morning, Bill Hunt (editor of the Digital Bits) will he hosting a DVD producers panel discussion from 1 pm to 3 pm.
It should be a fun and interesting day, so you may want to head out there! Unfortunately, I'll be out of town for it this year, so I won't see any of you there.
Oh, and as a potential special incentive...Last year there were door-prize drawings every hour or so, and one of the prizes that Disney gave away was an advance copy of the Fantasia DVD box set. This year, Snow White is being released only a couple of weeks after Studio Day, so it may be possible that the Snow White DVD may appear as a door prize. Besides that possibility, there are a bunch of other cool prizes that the various studios bring down, so be sure to hang around for the drawings.
(BTW, the Snow White DVD will be well worth the $20 - $30. The transfer looks really nice, the audio is clean and the goodies are abundant...more to come later)
Here's the details on Dave's Video: located at 12144 Ventura Blvd, in Studio City, California. (Phone: 818-760-3472).
