I'm just glad it doesn't have pointy wings all around it!

Love the half medal too. Now we just have to patiently wait about another 2 months!!

That 10k medal is awful cute. Makes me sort of sad I'm not doing this one, but last year's heat really turned me off from originally registering (and the cost of registration is making it a little more difficult...). I'll just have to be a little jealous of everyone that is running and getting the 10k medal, but I"ll be cheering for you!

    - Spring MouseAdventures: Decades advanced: our goal? to finish. mission accomplished!
    - december 09 reindeer games: 26th place, & drenched all the way through!
    - spring 09 mouse adventure (train, trams, and monorails): advanced division, with a newbie! the dominoes and the jigsaw puzzle nearly killed us!
    - fall 08 mouse adventures: third place in the 101 division!

Aw shucks! Missed out on signing up for the 10K...that's such an awesome medal...even the rubber medallions are cool looking! If there are any last-minute cancellations, let me know! LOL

Take a slight bit of comfort that you won't have to listen to an hour of Hawaiian Roller Coaster? Though, for me, I'm excited about the medal, I'm going to likely be thrilled about the shirt (I'll get to retire my princess shirt and have a STITCH shirt!

That photo of the medals made me cry.

Why didn't runDisney announce the theme before registration opened?

I can't even begin to tell you how upset that made me.

Excited to get that Half medal. If only I could start training! Something popped in my ankle last week during softball. Now my ankle IS a softball. I am bummed though that I did not sign up for the dumbo. There is always next year right?

You have to do 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon - it's the 10th anniversary race!

Hope the ankle is better soon.

You might still be able to get in. A Shellie Day went through a travel company to register not too long ago.. If you're interested, PM her for the details. I'm sure she'll share.
    First 5K - Neverland - January 19th, 2013
    First Half Marathon - TinkerBell - January 19th, 2014

It's amazing what is possible in just one year.

Hehe, I actually messaged her earlier this afternoon about that.

Yup, thank you. I haven't heard back from the travel agency yet so we'll see.

    Dumb question time.
Since this is my first half, I didn't have a previous time to enter (and the deadline has passed anyway), I will be in one of the later if not last corral. How many corrals are there and how far apart are the start times? I'm trying to plan for the end and get a reservation for a meal with my support team (wife and son-in-law) at Steakhouse 55.

Not a dumb question in the least. We actually have this discussion every year as we try to figure out corral placement before it's announced.

Just going off last year's corral assignments, there were eight corrals - one for Elites and seven for everyone else. The time between starts can vary from 2 - 5 minutes depending on the size of the corrals.

Of course, that can all change this year but hopefully this is a good start for you.

So, I could expect to start roughly 30-45 minutes past the official start. Does the race typically start promptly at 0530?

Thanks, that helps a bunch; I had no idea how many corrals to expect.

The three runDisney events I've participated in started pretty much on time. For the Tinker Bell Half in January, I was in Corral D and we started about 5:50. If I recall correctly the wheelchair divisions start out first, about 5:25 given an official 5:30 race start. But I could be mistaken and they go out at 5:30 to start the race.

(Keeping my fingers crossed I improved my time enough to move up to Corral C for the DL Half.)

30-45 minutes is probably safe to estimate your start time.

Me!! I'll be there. I'm certain there will be more information given it's pre-expo. Also noticed the expo open time has moved to midday, so we will be in at 11..
