I said at this last 10K that I would never run that miserably hot weekend again.

And, since then, I've decided that I'm going to go for Dumbo next year. Because, I'm kind of stupid crazy.

    First 5K - Neverland - January 19th, 2013
    First Half Marathon - TinkerBell - January 19th, 2014

It's amazing what is possible in just one year.

Yeah, and I was one and done for marathons after the 2013 event and then I signed up for Dopey. I'm in that 'stupid crazy' boat with you.

Do you know if there will be early registration at the 2014 Tinkerbell Expo? I'm not sure if that has happened in the past since this will be the wife's first time running the races in January.

I wouldn't be surprised if they offered it at Tinker Bell but I would say no guarantees. runDisney usually doesn't announce per-registration at the expos - it's kind of a fun surprise when you stop by the runDisney booth.

runDisney sold out so many pre-reg spots for the 2013 event that it sold out within a day of open registration. I would definitely watch the Team MousePlanet forum for any pre-reg announcements and get in as early as you can.

One alarm not to rely on is the runDisney email registration announcement. It's usually hours (if not a day) late!

VERY true! With as much presence as runDisney has on Twitter, they sure are slow on those all important announcements (meet-ups, registrations, etc.) Which is why i follow forums like these and other Twitter peeps for breaking runDisney news.

    2014 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend

I have to have my charity group order in Jan 7. It looks like DDD is having a $50 increase, half a $15 increase and 10k a $10 increase.

Looks like the registration link is live but a password is required. Nothing updated yet for APs. Anything for DVC or Disney Visa?

And proof of time for the half must be from a certified 10k or longer race completed after August 1, 2012.

Let me pick my jaw up off the floor.

I was pretty iffy on doing the DL Half this year but looking at this price I think I might just pass entirely. Wow.

When you consider how pricey a Disney trip (DLR or WDW) is in the first place, adding this expense is over the top for me. I felt this way when the Tink 2014 prices were posted, and this pretty much seals the deal. If I registered my family for the same races we ran during the 2013 Disneyland Half Marathon weekend, I'd be out $885.00 is entry fees alone.

I feel like runDisney is more focused on first-time racers who want to check "ran through the Disney parks" off their running bucket list. As a Disney fan, it breaks my heart that I won't be able to combine my two favorite things (running and Disney) in one trip, but for the cost of our park visits, I'd rather focus my time on parks, and save my race entry fees for the many other races out there (local and destination) that are less expensive but can be just as amazing to run. After Dopey, I guess that's it for me for a while.

Completely agree. We're about 95% going to skip it this year and probably do Dumbo in 2015 for the half marathon anniversary medal.

I'm priced out. I already scoffed at myself for $175 races. $200? Pass. Nice try RunDisney, but I'm tapped.

    2014 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend

I keep telling DH we can't afford to do every runDisney race that comes along. I'm done for the year after Princess. DH is fundraising for DDD but his fundraising will be a different demographic than mine. He wants to do Dopey 2015 but that's a really steep price tag so I'm pushing for him to do "just" goofy or even "just" the full. I may skip out on the WDW half and just enjoy vacation and cheering on our friends. My girls like to do the 10k's but at $100 a pop gets expensive. Then you factor in hotel, food, the merchandise experiences and the running gear and outfits it really adds up. Maybe we'll win the lotto one of these days.

Looking at the pricing for this year's Disneyland Half races has seriously changed my plans for that weekend as well as Disney races and racing in general.

Please don't ask me how I feel, I feel fine.
Oh I cry a bit, I don't sleep too good, but I'm fine

It seems silly that $40 is the tipping point, but for me it was just a sign. I decided to do the C2C this year (Tink and WnD). The upswing in price for the Dumbo made it easier to try and convince my friend to come to WnD instead--theoretically cooler, new experience, etc. This decision just means that someone else will have the incredible experience of the Dumbo as I won't be taking their spot.

Yuck. In that case, I'm only doing the 10K, and only because a friend I inspired to run will be doing it as his first race.

    First 5K - Neverland - January 19th, 2013
    First Half Marathon - TinkerBell - January 19th, 2014

It's amazing what is possible in just one year.
