Post your request for a FREE personalized sign for the 2013 Disneyland Half Marathon

Earlier this year I read an article Runner's World talking about the Boston Marathon, and the personalized signs the women of Wellesley College make for anyone who asks for one. (I can't find the article online from Runner's World, but found this article that also talks about it).

I absolutely loved this idea, and thought it would be a blast to do something like this for the Disneyland Half Marathon. Team MousePlanet has a great CHEER station set up around the halfway point of the course, and I think this would be a great motivator to send our runners and walkers into the final half of the race.

We have the posters. We have the markers. We have the willing volunteers, who we are bribing with cokes, chips and salsa to make the posters. Now we just need your sign requests.

If you would like your very own personalized race sign, please reply to this thread with your name, hometown, favorite (clean) inspirational phrase, whatever. We'll do our best to make something colorful and clever for you, and you can look forward to seeing your sign somewhere between mile 6 and 7. There's no charge - just tell us what you want your sign to say!

    Ready? Set? TYPE!

If you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room.

I love this idea!! Here's my humble request ... "You can do magic!" (and if you can toss out a 'go team holoholo' I'd be thrilled <3 ) (holo holo means.. like to goof off, run around)

You guys are so awesome!!! I absolutely loved seeing you out there last year at the race! I'll be there once again. I'm Crystal and my request is my favorite Walt Disney quote "It's Kind Of Fun To Do The Impossible" on a sign that would ROCK! I even have that quote tattooed on me, it just means so much.

I'm just happy to see some familiar faces out there since my family can't be there. Thanks again!

Can you make one for my Sarah? Something about...."your ride on California Screamin' with Tina and Dana is waiting - hurry up" or "Goofy, Tink, and now DUMBO????? Are you NUTS?"....

    Someday going Goofy again.....

    Kim, Michele, Marci
    You're half way to churros!

    Thank you!

This is the coolest idea ever, WOW!
If it's no bother I would it be possible to have a sign read "BEAST GROUP Chicago/Cali Rocks!"

This is really awesome of you. My name is Steven and I'm from West Hollywood, CA. I train with a group called the Coyotes so it would be awesome to have my name on a sign with the word "HOWL!" I'm not sure what corral I'm starting in but I should hit mile 6 around the 50-minute mark n thanks!

I have a couple friends who are having issues replying to this thread so I hope it's ok if I post on their behalf.
    For user Shannon Jo:
"Caroline Mae, Ang & Shannon Jo, Rockin' the Magic Kingdom. You got this!"

They were in the queue for approval. Once they verify they should be good to go! Welcome to MousePad.

    What a great idea!

There's a bunch of people from the Half Fanatics group that are doing the DL Half so I think something like this would be great:

    "HALF FANATICS
    ONLY HALF CRAZY!"

Their logo is blue and yellow so using blue on the sign would be good, too.

[Yes, I plan to wear my HF shirt for the half.]

I would love to see " Maddie and Makenna are proud of their Mommy". They tell me this alot and won't be there at this race so seeing this would help keep me going.

    Can mine say this:

    Tim,
    Will You Marry Me?
    Beyonce

In the year leading up to my 40th birthday, I'm going to attempt to run 40 races! Follow me on Facebook!

Such a great idea! My name is Valerie... Could you do something acknowledging my ultimate supporter, my hubby of 41 years, Frank? Something like: "Better hurry! Frank is still waiting.. and there might be flowers!" Or anything mentioning him... He has been my rock.

    And thank you!!!

Can you make one for me (Shawna) that says - "Keep moving forward!"

Hi I'm new to the forum so I hope I'm doing this right!

My husband and I are running together! This will by my husbands 1st half and my 5th. While my husband has cheered me on before, I've never had the pleasure of a personalized race sign so I would be so thankful if we could please have a sign that reads:

"Hurry Up Brian & Jenny! HOT Churros are waiting for you at the finish line!"

Thanks so much! I'll keep my eyes peeled for it and let it be a surprise for my Husband!

This is such a great idea to do !!! I loved seeing you guys out while running the Tink 1/2 in Jan.

Can you make a sign for me (Vicki from Hayward, CA ) that says -- " Keep running your PR is waiting " Also for my husband David who really needs a sign since he's been injured during most of training.
A sign for David (Hayward, CA ) that would say--- "Turtles just keep swimming"

Thanks so much for the support. Can't wait to see our signs on the course.
