Happy (only slightly belated) Birthday to ME!
We are already booked at the DVC Villas on 9/28-9/29! Now we just have to figure out how to get our kids from the Villa to a babysitter and/or bite the bullet and register as family teams.

Question: If I register a team can I modify the number of players after we sign-up? I'm trying to convince some family to come down from Northern California to play, but I might not have a final answer in time. I'm trying to plan ahead here.

You can drop players, but you can't add them. For this game, since there's only one division, the registration system is based on the number of players. Registration will end once we've reached the maximum capacity of the ballroom*. Once that happens, we will not add players.
*I know some have previously asked, "well, I know Team Y dropped a player, so why can't we have that spot to add our player?" We have a pretty good idea of the drop rate after all these years, and we take that into consideration when we set the capacity limit. This means we actually need XX number of players to drop so we are under the ballroom capacity. That's why you can't have their spot.

Thanks AVP! That's just the information I was looking for! I wasn't aware that this MA was only one division.

NOOOOOOOOO! I just don't enjoy the one-division games as much. We just can't compete with those Advanced crazies (said with the utmost respect...).

This! So very much this! How about giving everyone the same quests, but scoring us in different divisions -- kind of like how Family teams did the same Spring quests as Basic teams but got graded separately?
Pretty please?

I actually went through the Fall 2012 scores (when there was only 1 division) and separated out whichever teams I could identify as Advanced so that we could get our "true" ranking. I will now proceed to roll eyes at myself

But what makes a team an 'Advanced' team? My sister and I were a 'New' team that decided to play Advanced the first time around.

Well, it's self-selected. If you think you are an Advanced team, then you are.

Have I missed an announcement about whether the fall game is in DCA and/or DL yet? We're trying to convince a newbie and need to know if she'd need a park hopper or a 1-park pass. Thanks!

Thanks!
It hasn't been officially announced yet. The Save the Date says Each player will need admission to Disneyland and/or Disney California Adventure park. That's pretty vague in my opinion and registration is next week, so I'm assuming we should hear more definitive details soon! *crosses fingers*

Oh man... I haven't missed a MA since our weddingmoon on the Disney Wonder... and now this MA is 9 days after my due date for my first little mouseketeer's birth! Anyone been lucky enough to do an MA so soon after delivery and survive? Should I be crazy and try it? We could get the little man started WAY early

Congrats!! I find it very, very hard to miss a game myself so I totally get it, and I have done MA with a baby (9 months old) but I'd be reluctant to try with one that young. The main issue is not the baby (though some may be concerned about germs, everyone has a different comfort level there) - at that age they sleep a ton, and would probably be relatively easy to just wheel around during the game with a couple of stops at baby care. At 9 days out (if you deliver on time), I'd be most concerned about you. You'll most likely be VERY tired, and not just from sleep deprivation but from your body healing from the birth.
YMMV and I know it varies for each person but as much as it is so hard to miss a game, my recommendation would be to get yourself a good baby carrier or backpack and plan on bringing the little one in the spring. I am sure adriennek is in need of more MA babies to hold!

Since Fall DLR Registration is less than a week away, can we expect to have more definitive details on the event before registration opens?
My team is trying to plan ticket purchase cost (1 or both parks?), hotel plans, general travel, etc. I'm also anxious to hear out about the "all-new" format and over-all theme.
Also, I've been absent for the last several MA's. Is it common now that the event ends around 4:00pm (+/-) and the scoring is not done the same day? Or is there still the post-event gathering?

Thanks Nala! I remember reading about your adventures with your little one, so I really appreciate your input. The hubby and i decided it would be best to wait til spring... boo... but to save our monies from this MA and buy Halloween tix instead. That way I can dress my little man up

They still have the post-event gathering. The price went up somewhat b/c Disney now makes MousePlanet buy a food package with the room. The plus side is that this meant that they had great desserts and veggies at the post-event gathering in Spring 2013. Scoring is the same day and top results are announced at the post-event gathering.

Is there a theme for the event announced yet? Did I miss that somewhere? We were thinking of trying to incorporate theme into our team name this time, but I can't find it...
