It's Monday morning and the Tinker Bell runDisney Kids Races are officially sold out! That is pretty amazing for kid's races which at times have actually been open for registration at the expo. Let's look at how Tinker Bell runDisney Kids' Race registration has tracked over the years.

    2012 - 5 months, 10 days
    2013 - 3 months, 19 days
    2014 - 7 days

The only faster Kids' Race sellout would be the 2013 Disneyland event when they sold out in 4 days. Looks like those West Coast races are pretty darn popular but do keep in mind in 2014 that the WDW and Princess runDisney Kids' Races will be run on multiple days instead of just one meaning a much larger capacity potential.

I also wonder how moving the 5K to Friday has impacted the faster sell out of the kids races. Those parents who might have otherwise had their kids doing the 5K, now are having them do the kids races because they don't want them to miss school.

You make a good point that shouldn't be overlooked. And I don't see a stroller division in the 5k this year either. The age groups for the Kids' Races goes from crawlers (12 months and under) to 8 years old. At least they all get a nice, rubber finisher's medal.

Now that many of the runDisney main events are sold out, we're starting to see the other weekend events gain some traction. Remember, if you have friends and family who want to join you at the W&D or ToT finish line parties, they will need tickets to get into the events. And yes, they do sell out! Also take note that the 2014 Tinker Bell breakfast is no longer on the schedule but the Pasta Party in the Park is already at 68% capacity!

We also have a Princess Half update (getting close to sell out) but oddly no movement since last Friday for either the Tinker 10k or Never Land 5k.

Princess Half Marathon - capacity is up to 96%. If you are thinking about earning that pink C2C medal or just looking for a fun half marathon weekend, don't delay!

Wine & Dine Finish Line Party - 54% capacity

Disney Villain's Bash (post ToT) - 51% capacity

Pasta Party in the Park (Tinker Bell) - 68% capacity

Just fair warning - the 2014 Princess Half Marathon has hit 99% capacity! Act NOW if you are thinking about joining in the fun next February.

UPDATE: And so, at 8:00 p.m. PST / 11:00 p.m. EST the 2014 Princess Half Marathon is officially SOLD OUT! The runDisney site is still showing 99% but the Active.com site is showing FULL.

Looking forward to seeing all of you next February in WDW!

Happy Monday morning and welcome to a runDisney race registration update! We (finally) have news from Tinker Bell that isn't pasta-related, the WDW Marathon is inching even closer to closing (although Goofy hasn't budged since early July), and the two remaining open 5ks also continue to make registration progress. Now if we could only get confirmation from runDisney on a date for Expedition Everest!

You can see all the updated capacity numbers on the Registration Tracker leading this forum. Going forward, all updates will be highlighted in RED for easier identification.

    Until next update, happy running!

Odd there is only one bitty little registration update this week. The WDW Marathon has moved to 99% capacity. Otherwise, runDisney is showing no updates for any of the other events. I just can't believe registration for the remaining races/ events have gone THAT dead but that is what runDisney is reporting.

One other item. If you have reviewed the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend Final Race Instructions PDF, they list the dates of the 2014 Expedition Everest as May 2nd and 3rd. Naturally, take this with a grain of salt until it's officially published on the runDisney.com website (we've seen published dates move before) but for now, it looks like those are the targeted dates.

I just KNEW there had to be more registration updates! Looks like the 5k's have finally hit the 90's, Goofy is almost at 90, and the remaining Tinker Bell events are continuing their slow slog to capacity. As always, you can see all the changes listed below highlighted in red in the overview at the start of this forum.

This morning we have updates in:

    Happy Haunted 5k Trail Run - 95%
    runDisney Kid's Races - 60%

    Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k - 92%

    Goofy Challenge - 89%

    Tinker Bell 10k - 72%

    Never Land 5k - 77%

Looks like the remaining 2013 runDisney 5ks are fast-tracking to sell out. If you are interested in either participating in a runDisney 5k in 2013 and/or want to add a 5k as a warm-up to the upcoming night runs (it's a fun challenge but boy, it makes for a looooooong day), make sure you are signed up ASAP!

Also, keep in mind that the final $$$ update for the Goofy Challenge happens August 14, 2013. That cost increase brings the cost up to $400 per person so if you are still considering the Goofy Challenge and want to save yourself $30, make sure you are signed up in the next couple of weeks! As always, you can see all the changes listed below highlighted in red in the overview at the start of this forum.

    Today's updates:

    Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k - 95% capacity

Happy Haunted 5k Trail Run - 99% capacity

Well, that was quick. The remaining runDisney 5k races SOLD OUT over the weekend. That's right; hopefully you signed up in time for both the Happy Haunted 5k Train Run and/or Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k 'cause there is no more room at the inn! There is still room in the runDisney Kid's Races as well as the secondary activities such as the Wine & Dine Finish Line Party and the Disney Villains Hollywood Bash but the 2013 runDisney race calendar for adults is officially sold out.

    Stat time!

    Happy Haunted 5k Trail Run
2012 - did not sell out prior to the expo
    2013 - 5 months, 24 days

    Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k
2010 - did not sell out prior to the expo
    2011 - 6 months, 7 days to sell out
    2012 - 7 months, 28 days to sell out
    2013 - 4 months, 24 days to sell out

And another one bites the dust. The 2014 WDW Marathon reached capacity this morning. There are still spots available via the Goofy Challenge (currently at 89% capacity) but if you were considering taking on the full marathon in January, the clock just hit midnight and it's game over.

And just for fun, let's look at how things have changed in just a few short years. What a difference from 2010, 2011, and 2012! Also keep in mind that we see capacity continue to increase year after year which makes these last couple of years quit amazing. Obviously, the Dopey played a big part in this year's numbers (as did the 20th anniversary in 2013) but overall, pretty impressive!

    Year--------Reg Opened-------Reg Closed
    2008----------1/9/2007--------8/23/2007--------7 months, 15 days
    2009---------1/13/2008--------11/7/2008--------9 months, 26 days
    2010---------1/13/2009-------12/11/2009-------10 months, 29 days
    2011---------1/12/2010-------12/14/2010-------11 months, 3 days
    2012---------3/15/2011-------12/19/2011--------9 months, 5 days
    2013---------4/10/2012---------9/5/2012--------4 months, 27 days
    2014----------4/9/2013---------8/6/2013--------3 months, 29 days

The registration updates just keep coming in! Nothing big except for the Disneyland Half ChEAR Squad Gold selling out and Goofy moving up to 92%. The rest of the capacity updates are just small changes as the rest of the events keep chugging along.

    Today's Updates:

    Goofy Challenge - 92%

    Tinker Bell 10k - 74%

Pasta Party in the Park - 74%

Disneyland ChEAR Gold - SOLD OUT

    Disneyland ChEAR Platinum - 58%

Race Retreats are always a BIG business during runDisney half and marathon weekends. A warm or cool room, massage, private porta-loos, munchies and drinks are just some of the treats available for runners who purchase the race retreat option. Space is not unlimited and even these events can reach capacity. For those of you who are considering signing up for a bit of pampering before and/or after your big race, it looks like capacity is starting to fill for many of the events. Here are the latest retreat stats:

    Princess Half Marathon Weekend:
Half Marathon Race Retreat - 84% capacity
    Disney Enchanted 10k - 51% capacity
Glass Slipper Challenge - 52% capacity

    WDW Marathon Weekend:
    Half Marathon - 58% capacity
    Marathon - 52% capacity
    Goofy & Dopey - 85% capacity

As always, check back here for the latest in registration updates!

Welcome to Monday August 12th. We are 17 days from the Disneyland Half Marathon / Dumbo Double Dare / Disneyland 10k / Disneyland Family Fun Run 5k weekend! Not that we're counting the days...

But there are other runDisney events on the calendar and there was a bit of registration movement this morning. We have an update for Goofy as well as the Never Land 5k (which is on target for selling out faster than the inaugural Tinker Bell 10k...).

Goofy Challenge - 94% capacity (keep in mind the cost will go from $370 to $400 on Wednesday August 14th so don't delay!)

    Never Land 5k - 80% capacity

Keep checking here for all runDisney registration updates as they become available!

The Tinker Bell 10k must have heard of my earlier comments about the 5k on track to sell out faster as early this evening capacity jumped from 74% to 77%. it's still behind the 5k but at least it's moving along.

Registration must have caught up from the runDisney booth at D23 (at least I assume there was a presence there...). Goofy has jumped up to 96% capacity (and hopefully you got in before the price increased today). The Tinker Bell 10k is at 80% and the Never Land 5k is at 82% capacity.

And if you are looking to get into the sold-out 2013 Wine & Dine Half Marathon, 2013 Tower of Terror 10-Miler, 2014 Princess Half Marathon, or 2014 WDW Marathon or Half, make sure to check out the New Balance/ Zappos Happily Ever After Excellent Sweepstakes where you can win entry as well as accomodations. As the countdown to the 2013 Disneyland Half Marathon weekend ticks down, the remaining runDisney events are continuing to move to capacity (although some much slower than others!). Will be interesting to see if we have a big jump after the upcoming expo.

There are still no updates on the Royal Family 5k (part of the Princess Half Marathon weekend) and some of the peripheral events such as the 2014 WDW Pasta Party in the Park are barely registering updates. Perhaps after paying entry fees (not to mention hotel and air), there just isn't much left in the wallet for the other fun stuff.

    Today's Capacity Updates:

    Goofy Challenge - 98%

    Never Land 5k - 86%

Tinker Bell 10k - 85% (hmmmmm, catching up to the 5k...)

Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend Pasta Party in the Park - 79%

    Disney Villains Bash - 58%

ToT runDisney Kids Run - 63%

Wine & Dine runDisney Kids Run - 56%

Wine & Dine Finish Line Party - 72%

Disneyland ChEAR Platinum - Limited quantities available at the expo

Well, we have a short update for you this week. The Goofy Challenge is now at 99% capacity which means it could sell-out at any time. There are also a couple of updates for the kids races but no movement on Tinker Bell or the remaining Princess events. Will be interesting to see if they move after this weekend's Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend expo.

As noted in the 2014 Tinker forum, registration for the Never Land 5k and Tinker 10k took a BIG jump over the Disneyland Half weekend. If you are thinking about participating in either event, don't delay too much longer in signing up!

It is over and done. The 2014 Tinker 10k and Never Land 5k are officially SOLD OUT!

By the numbers to reach capacity:

    2012 Never Land 5k - 9 months, 1 day
    2013 Never Land 5k - 2 months, 27 days
    2014 Never Land 5k - 1 month, 29 days

    Inaugural 2013 Disneyland 10k - 3.5 hours
(part of Dumbo Double Dare Challenge) -

    Inaugural 2014 Enchanted 10k - 10 days
    (part of Glass Slipper Challenge)

    Inaugural 2014 Tinker 10k - 1 month, 29 days
    (not part of challenge)

Wonder how much faster it would have sold out if runDisney had made it part of a challenge...

With the majority of the 'big ticket' 2013/ 2014 race events currently sold out, it's time to turn the registation number watch to some of the secondary events (such as Pasta Parties and Pre-Race Tastes) as well as the Princess 5k which just reached 50% capacity.

If previous registration dates hold true, expect to see registration for the 2014 Disneyland Half Marathon open in January. And don't forget, the 2014 Wine & Dine Half Marathon will be the 5th running of the event so expect to see a new commemorative medal next year!

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10 Miler Weekend
    runDisney Kids Races - 72%
Disney Villains Hollywood Bash - 72%

Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend
    runDisney Kids Races - 58%
    Finish Line Party - 78%
    Pre-Race Taste - 91%

    Tinker Bell Half Marthon Weekend

Sigh. I so miss the excitement of race registration opening. Although I have a couple of quick capacity updates for you, we won't see the daily (sometimes hourly) updates again until December when Expedition Everest opens and January when 2014 Disneyland opens (assuming the usual registration schedule).

    Today's updates:

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10 Miler Weekend
    runDisney Kids Races - 82%
Disney Villains Hollywood Bash - 83%

Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend
    Finish Line Party - 82%
