This is a nostalgic post. Today, and I really mean today, we get music downloaded into our iPhones or iPods. Also, I have tons of Disney tracks on my desktop computer. I see no need to create a special CD of Disney tracks when I already have all the Disney music. It is another dollar that I don't need to spend on my Disney vacation. Besides, do you know you can get free Disney music from the internet via the various "apps" like Pandora where I can create a Disney station. I can listen to Disney on the fly.
As for classical violinist Jenny Oaks Baker, I'm sure the music is good. Perhaps it is something I will listen to someday.
If agreeing with Tom makes me nostalgic, then I'm nostalgic! I'll admit that I listen to most of my audio on an iPod too, but there's a noticeable difference in sound quality between an MP3 or AAC file and a CD-quality file, and I'll happily pull out and listen to my CDs to enjoy the difference from time to time. I know that there's tons of Disney tracks available on the Internet, but for the most part, I haven't been thrilled with the sound quality, and I'd rather spend a little money to have a collection of high-quality tracks than have to make do with lower quality "free" music because I can't purchase those tracks somewhere.
So how about it, Disney? Think you can spare a little space on the shelves at the theme parks or a little bit of virutal real estate on iTunes for those of us who want to purchase music from the parks? Maybe it won't bring in as much money as the latest compilation of Disney pop star bubble gum, but I guarantee it'll still be worth your while to offer it to us.
