We own this! My husband and I bought when we were just dating and now our 8 year old son plays it. Its probably the only reason we still have a playstation.
We owned the PC version of the game. I used to play all the time with my daughters when they were younger. Unfortunately, that old PC is long gone and we haven't been able to play in years. I completely agree that the draw of this game was being able to see and hear all the different areas of Walt Disney World right at home on the PC. Thanks for a great reminder of some fun Disney memories.
Thought you'd all enjoy reading an email I just received from someone involved with this game's creation:
Chris-
Love your article on WDW Quest. I formerly worked for Disney World in Marketing and I'm the guy who came up with the concept and wrote the storyline for the game. I also worked with the interactive group to ensure that they included WDW touches where they could. I know it's old, and probably looks terrible compared to the games of today, but it brings back a lot of memories.
A friend of mine just emailed me about your article out of the blue. Thanks for the kind words. Enjoy the game!
Michael
One of the cooler things about writing for a site like MousePlanet is that every once in a while you find yourself in contact with the people involved with bringing us great bits of Disney magic like this game. After playing the game all these years, I was finally able to personally thank one of it's creators. So, once again I say, "Thanks. Michael. It's been fun and...of course...magical."
