We stayed here on our honeymoon (2010), In Jamaica, building 45! I have to agree that it is probably the best building at the entire resort, for all of the reasons you said. Caribbean Cay is simply an excellent experience and I would certainly hate to have not experienced walking back through there and over the bridges to get to Old Port Royale and to get back to our room. This is a great resort and we look forward to staying there again! Only word of advice to people who may not know.... there are NO ELEVATORS at this resort! If you take your own luggage to your room, you will need to carry it up stairs (if you are not on the first floor), or if you or a family member have mobility issues, you may want to request first floor (although I'm sure you would even if there were elevators)! Great article. Thanks for bringing back some memories for me!

I "accidentally" stayed at CB when I went on a business trip for a meeting held at the convention center. As a lover of Disney World I realized I could stay at a moderate and rent a car for the price of the expensive rooms near the convention center- No brainer! As a family we had stayed at AKL and WL usually. But I loved CB. I totally agree that it has that immersive environment that I love about the lodges. It isn't a deluxe and is missing a central building to find nooks to hang out in, and the transportation seems more time consuming, but it is still a magical place to stay and a real option. So when we went on a cruise a year later, we came in the day before (highly recommend so you can board asap and start enjoying the ship) and we stayed at CB. Again we had rented a car which is a great deal because there no one way charges and for one day rental we got from the airport to CB, out to dinner at Boma's, and then to the ship the next morning. But best of all, my family got to see what I was raving about at CB. They also found it beautiful. I had planned some non-park options at the world for our day there, but really we just hung out at the resort in hammocks etc. So as I'm struggling with financing the next vacation with my first child in college (sniff), the CB is looking really good. Especially if I rent a car for the trip.
