Thanks, Malcon10T! You made me feel much better. This thread was starting to scare me! We've got a lot invested in this trip ($$$$) as it's my boyfriend's first visit to California.

MOST of the issues with "not guaranteed" are with regards to bedding. The beds are not guaranteed. The GCH only has about 50 rooms with a King bed, and a limited number with a sofa. You could end up with simply 2 queens if you requested a king, or if you requested the rooms that have the sofa sleeper, you might get 2 queens and a sleeping bag/mat. If you are booking a party of 5, and want a guarantee of 3 beds, your best bet is to book 2 rooms. Never count on the sofa sleeper, unless you are willing to deal with the sleeping bag...
Planning 3 trips at once...
Wow great replies everyone this has helped out alot and more than just me.
Ok who was it that said they got pph for 100 a night? How did you manage that low ?
2 yrs ago we stayed at PPH and loved it BUT that extra walk eventhough it is just across the street made us more tired and grumpy
