Le Cellier meal [review and photos]

So. We used 6 adult credits, paid for a child's meal for DD and got 3 starters and two sides. Total with tip, $126 plus 6 credits! Service was awful too!

The 4th picture looks like someone threw up on the plate! So how was the food?

Aww, they don't put whiskers on the Mousse Moose any more. When I got one (wow - the weekend that Expedition Everest had AP/DVC previews - didn't think it was that long ago) we couldn't figure out what they were made of -- deep fried otherwise uncooked spaghetti.

Looking forward to hear more about the quality of the food - thats been a big source of debate lately.

If the service was awful, I sure hope you said something to the manager. There is no excuse for poor service especially for such an expensive meal.

The search function is like the Force. It may take practice, but the more you use it, the more control you will have over it!

We had horrible service there too, in late January 2012. It was so bad that I don't think I'll ever get my family to go there again, even though the food was very good (well, except for DH's incorrectly cooked steak--which luckily they remedied). I know that every restaurant can have a bad day, but the service was so awful that it put us all in a bad mood for a couple of hours. There are so many restaurants that we haven't tried yet at Epcot, there's no reason for us to go back. And seriously SIX table credits PLUS $126!! That's just insane. The food is good, but not THAT good.

The soup was good. The bread sticks were divine. The deserts were okay. The side of 'posh' fries was yummy. The steak was yuck. We asked for medium and two medium rare. The medium was still bleeding for a third of the meat and the medium rare was pretty much raw in the middle.

We had to ask three times for drinks refills. The waitress dropped her pile of dirty plates back onto the table, smashing my cocktail glass to smithereens (of course anyone can have an accident), but she didn't replace the cocktail. We had said we would pay out of pocket for DDs child's meal rather than use 2 adult TS credits (she's 10), but it took 3 attempts at our bill to get this right. There were no menus for deserts (they had run out), the service was slow I would say they were overwhelmed. Tables crammed even closer together if that's possible.

This was DHs favourite but for the money they are now taking the mickey IMO. We have eaten here 4 times and I would say that both the food and the service have gown downhill considerably.

If the service was good and the steaks where cooked correctly would you recommend eating there for the lunch one credit or is it just time to give up? Would you go to Coral Reef instead?

Yes. This had previously been our favourite restaurant. But lunch will be two credits too at some point. 2013? I can't remember the date it changes.

I too had almost the same experience At the cellar about a year ago , Glad to see another honest not so good review posting, If more would post honestly, the resturant might get a face lift, lecellier used to be really good years ago, it sure has went down hill, a rehap is needed.

Here is one of my old posts's from 11-27-2009 that I received alot of unwarrented negitive feedback over, seems only right to bring it back now.
I have eaten at most of WDW table service restaurants and I usually like to give some room to the restaurants because the cook may have had a problem, but this one is so highly over rated it's not funny, if anyone can not get Res here, don't feel bad, feel lucky. We had dinner at LeCellier on 11-16-09 and it was terrible, we ordered new york steaks and they were the worst steaks we had ever eaten or half eaten. The waiter was nice, offered us new ones, but said they would be just like the ones we had, than the couple next to us said theirs was the same, "Bad" tough and gritty flavor, The couple on the other side of us, had some sort of fish and said it wasn't as good as it used to be either, the waiter said we weren't the first to complain and the management is aware of the complaints. The mashed potatoes tasted as they had sand mixed in them.
The check in is so miss managed and unorganized, the table seating for 2 is right on top of the next table you can eat off of someone else's plate on either side. Once again LeCellier is Highly Overrated, If you want A good steak go to Yachtsman steakhouse.
In order to get a Res at LeCellier you have to be get on the booking site as soon as you possible can and hope your lucky, than wait months to go, once there you pay top dollar and expect to have excellent if not good tasting food, well I sure didn't get what I had to wait for. What's sad is they know of the complaints about their food.
