Okay, this is one of those questions you only ask after your kid has watched a movie a billion times.
In the opening scene of Bolt, we see young Penny going into an adoption center and choosing a puppy version of Bolt.
Is this scene part of the pilot for the TV show?
Did Penny actually adopt Bolt, or does he belong to the studio?
My guess is that it's part of the TV show. But that she didn't really adopt Bolt until the very end of the movie.
That's my impression as well. The dog was part of the show and the adoption scene would have been from the first episode of what I presume is a long running show. Bolt would have to have been young enough when the show started that he didn't know anything outside of his fantasy life.
Even when you do suppose that the scene at the beginning was part of the show - it makes me wonder, did the show start with a puppy Bolt? The "opening credits" of his TV show show a mature Bolt being made into a super dog. I can't imagine the first season or two could have been very exciting...
Man, why in the world am I even wondering about this?
