Looking for...[Lake Buena Vista/Kissimmee area hotel for one night stay]

I am looking for a decent priced hotel to stay in for 1 night before we check into the POR. Close to Lake Beuna Vista/Kissimee area, that doesn't cost an arm or a leg and is clean/safe. Any suggestions are greatly appreciate! Thanks!

What sort of price range are you looking for? You might be able to stay at a value for a night for about the same price of neighboring hotels or even less, depending on time of year you are going and what offers are available.

I would need it for the Satruday after Thanksgiving and we are trying to find a decent hotel in the under $100 price range...not sure this will be possible.

Sure, its possible... but being that is a Holiday weekend, it will be more of a challenge to get "decent" at or under your price point.
There are several options in the Lake Buena Vista area from the Hilton family of hotels that start around $90 and up. Around $120, you can get a suite at Embassy Suites, which also include a full breakfast, which comes in handy.

You can get a room at All Stars for $124 including tax for the Sat after Thanksgiving. Keeps you onsite!

I agree. Stay onsite. For $24 it would be a no-brainer for me.

I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Lake Buena Vista. The one right in the Crossroads Plaza. We were driving down and got there earlier than anticipated. Very nice hotel. Clean. Safe. Can't beat free breakfast and suite rooms. My boyfriend (now hubby) and I slept on the pull out couch. That wasn't very comfortable, but I don't expect much from a pull out couch.

I would never leave luggage in the car. I don't care what hotel you are staying at. So we did take in all of our luggage. If you are big on breakfast then the savings right there would make me stay in Embassy Suites. I just checked and advanced payment (no refund) is $129.

After discussing with my husband, he gave in and we are staying at POP for the Saturday night and then in the morning moving to POR. If the room is not ready, do you know if they will hold your luggage for you while you go to the park?

Yes, they will. Just ask the CM that checks you in where you would do that and they'll direct you. (It's back towards the main parking lot, if I'm not confusing POFQ and POR in my brain)

And actually, they'll transfer your luggage for you, if you want. Since you have a car it'll probably be easier to do it yourself, but my sister and I fully plan to take advantage of that when we move from Caribbean Beach to Yacht Club for the last couple of nights of our vacation.

Thanks Cathy~ I will have them move it for me so we can go straight to the parks and not have to worry about repacking the SUV. Thanks for the info

At the values, I THINK you can call bell services to get your bags from your room for that, though I've always just brought my one bag to them to transfer. Double check that when you check in, because you might have to arrange that the night before. (If you travel like a normal family in a car, you probably don't want to have to schlep the bags to bell services on your own!)

And if they can get them from your room, you don't have to go to POR at all until you're done playing that day, or ready for a break (though if you have a specific room request above what you paid for - you want to do that earlier than later so there's options for granting your request.)

We are doing this exact thing next June. We will be driving and arriving sometime on a Saturday. We won't check into the BCV until Sunday, so we plan on staying at ASM for that one night. It's not much different in price from a hotel off-site, and just being on Disney property makes all the difference Depending on what time we get there, we can then take the bus to DTD to really feel like we've made it "home."

In 2010, we stayed our first night at the Beach Club and then transferred to POR for the next four nights. We did on-line check-in. I drove over to POR around 7:00 am to pick up our packet so we could get our park tickets that were linked to our stay at POR. Our room was available! I was surprised since it was the week after July 4th. I figured it would be later in the day when our room was ready. I went back to pick up the hubby and kids. I, of course, was ready to hit the parks. He insisted we take the car over to POR and get everything in the room. He knew we would be dreading the unpacking if we waited until that night. We just unloaded everything in the room and headed to the bus stop. We made it to AK fifteen minutes after rope drop.

I am sure the transfer will work out for you! Yay for "bonus" night on-site!
