Comments: I absolutely love trip reports and I know my son won't do one so I've decided to.
I was up at 2:30am this morning and drove the excited couple down to Bellingham to get on their 5:00am flight. Found out they paid $40 for checked baggage! Guess we forgot to go over the strategies of how to not pay for luggage but oh well. Our 14DD found an thing on Pinterest about How to Pack Two Weeks in a Carry-On which is very helpful. The link is: http://seventeenthandirving.blogspot...traveling.html if you can't find it on Pinterest. Our son and his new wife found a good deal on Alaska Airlines Vacation Deals and stayed at QI which has a breakfast. Our daughter and son-in-law just went 4 months ago to the same hotel. The breakfast doesn't have long line-ups like other hotels do.
A lot of trip planning is now part of our family to make sure we have the best time at Disneyland and get the most bang for your buck. I've learned lots from our friend DM who has been, between her and a friend, over 25 times to DL. They have even written a booklet on what things to see at DL and where to get a good meal for less than $10 an entre. I believe they sell it for $7-$10. It's very helpful especially if you are new.
About 1 1/2 years ago I went with 4 other woman around my age (50) and my goal was to spend $10 a day on food. I did bring lots of snacks which was not included in the price. But I was embarrassing cheap. But I did end up spending around $12 a day which was nice. I just don't know if I want to be that embarrassing cheap again!
I have just heard they have arrived in DL, had a nap and then toured DTD. Apparently, they are not going to DL until tomorrow. Interesting choice. They have a 5-day pass and are hoping to upgrade to a 6 day pass. I hope they do the MM tomorrow.
