Project Runway Season 10 [possible spoilers]
Anyone else watching?
I'm pretty much caught up but maybe we could still hide spoilers for those of us who like to watch on their DVR
What do you all think so far?
I think Ven has a really good chance at winning the whole thing, but he does have some good competition.
So far my favorites are Ven, Dmitry, and Sonjia.
What do you think about

Regarding your spoiler:
There haven't been enough shows for me to really get a good feel for who I like more. Sometimes it's really hard for me to separate the personality from the designer -- and some of the personalities this year really seem to have been cast for TV.

After yesterday's episode, I am completely disappointed with Ven. He has no character. So disappointing.

The top three, had such great experiences with their customers. Really upped them in my eyes. I was surprised with Sanjia (sp?) I think she may have had a good base idea in her head, but she should have 'kept going' in her thoughts - and the length!!
I also really like how they showed all of the other designers were reacting to Ven. I'd thought he was just 'justifiably cocky' before. Now he's just a pompous jerk in my eyes. (not first choice of noun, there!) I don't think they could have gotten rid of him, because of his other really nice designs previously, but they did 'deal' with him very appropriately.
-
Re: Ven I was just thinking that "hello, there are designers for male clothes too and I don't know if the designers vision was to have you wear a polo shirt that was snug along your arms and upper belly."
I think the judges are over him. He's really gonna have to wow them and not keep doing sculptured silk and satin clothing.
-
Another thumbs down for ven here!!
Up til the other night, I thought ven was going to be the sure winner and seemed to have a good attitude, but boy, did he ever disappoint me, with the way he treated his model!! And he's no Adonis, by any stretch of the imagination, so where does he get off being so critical of her and HER size!
I hadn't been too enthused about any of the other designers, but I though the kid with the 1/2 blond, 1/2 brown hair "don't" was really sweet to the woman and her friend, so he may be moving up in my eyes.
This season just seems to be weird to me, and I'm not sure why. Maybe things will change next week!

This!
I was wondering if now they (the casting people) are looking for more personality types than true designers. As I was thinking about the recent seasons, it seems to me like that is what is happening. Too bad, I really like the show, but I'm not sure I like what it's becoming.

So happy with the most recent elimination!!
Elena clearly has a temper and cannot handle teamwork challenges as was evidenced weeks ago. Her work is so one-note. But I must admit I admire her passion (and love her hot fuchsia lipstick haha).
The winning team last episode clearly had a cohesive look that was perfect for fall. I loved everything!!

Project Runway Season 10
LOVED the Rockettes outfit that won. If he hadn't won and if they didn't let Venn go on that one, I would have known the 'fix was in' on the show.
What was up with the baby boy outfits that were long sleeved but not long pants? The pants just looked like the designers forgot to account for the diaper in the length!
-
I agree with you, Cathy!
I really liked the silver skyscraper Rockettes' outfit and I was definitely glad to see Ven go home!
I thought the baby outfits were all pretty bad and basically a shameless plug for Heidi's baby line!
What was the point of giving them the screaming baby dolls? They didn't really take care of them and they didn't have the results of how well they did with that, like they have in schools that use them as an object lesson, or whatever. They all just seemed like they there for the irritation factor, so it was a waste of time!
While I'll be happy to see this season end, I am curious to know which of the past designers they'll be bringing back for the "All Stars 2.0" version coming up!

I loved that Rockettes dress too!! Christopher has proven again and again that he definitely deserves to go to Fashion Week!
I also did not understand the point of giving them the babies to take care of. It's not as if they were using them as models or anything?? So confusing and irrelevant.
What do you all think of the last elimination??

Wasn't shocked at the final 4. I did think the final challenge was well done by all the participants. Can't wait for the visits by Tim.

I was kind of disappointed that (the one who was eliminated
) did not seem to put their best work forward. I agreed with the judges and why that person was let go.
I can't wait for Tim's visits either!! I love seeing how the designers work from home and how they draw inspiration.

Usually I know their names by now- but the pastel collection really shocked me.
And the judges were really broadcasting the final decision they made.

I'm glad that all 4 get to show at fashion week. Fabio's pastel collection is so different than the others! Looking forward to seeing the rest of their stuff.

What a disappointment this season has been!
Well, who didn't see that final decision coming?!
I was so UNEXCITED by ALL of the clothes the final 4 came up with, when Heidi said they weren't "wowed", I thought she was going to say they were sending them all back to come up with better stuff!
I thought at least they'd be getting rid of one of them, but it was not to be!
We'll see what happens in Part 2!

I'm almost afraid to post this, but I'm enjoying this season far more than the last. I felt that last season, they gave Anya SO many blatant, unfair advantages that I remain convinced the win was a fix from day one. I didn't even plan to watch the show anymore, but I ended up doing so. I felt they had more talented people than usual this season. At the beginning, I was pretty sure Ven would be in the final three. It surprised me that he turned out to be not so amazing.
I was actually glad they all got to go to Fashion Week-- not because I thought they were all deserving, but because I didn't think any one was less deserving than the others. I also like them all as personalities. I couldn't have picked one to send home.
To all who come to this happy place...quit stepping on the back of my shoes!

Project Runway Season 10 [possible spoilers]
1000% in agreement with everything you said, TinkerMommy. From Anya to Ben to 'nobody was worse'. Also, almost all their critiques were on styling. Which is important for a runway show (and it IS Project Runway) but isn't a good reason to get rid of a Designer at this point. (Plus, I think they all show anyway for decoy purposes, so might as well make it count!)
-
The collections are boring. There is no creativity or innovation, or just plain weirdness.
Look at Season 5, for example. Now that's a collection.

I was kind of confused on Dmitry's collection. I loved some of the pieces individually (like - don't kill me - the neon green, studded shoulder, cut-out dress. HOT). But I don't get where the feathered ball gown fits in with the white blazer with the cutouts?
I have really started to like Christopher, especially over the last few weeks but I just didn't like his FW collection. I thought it was boring and dated. And too many pants/shorts!
Melissa was another designer who grew on me and I really enjoyed her collection. I think her clothes just look cool, but simple. They aren't too overdone IMO. I really liked that romper or swimsuit piece with the drapey cape thing. I was holding my breath for that model in the ling white dress with those tall black booties! I thought she was going to fall hahah
Fabio - I am also confused on because it didn't look very luxurious to me. The light pastel...is this supposed to be during fall or spring fashion week? These just looked like clothes I could get at Forever 21 or Urban Outfitters/Anthropologie.
and LOL at Stephenie Meyer on PW at FW!
Won't say anything about the winner quite yet

I loved Dmitry's stuff! My only issue is that I like my zippers to be hidden on nice clothes, but that's just a 'thing' I have. The geometric/architectural elements really spoke to me.
Fabio I liked, too. I did think he took it up a notch from the critique of the mini-show, but I think they were different from current mass market products available.
Melissa I liked, for the most part. The blood orange dress - yowza. But why couldn't she see the long white dress wasn't working when she tried it on the model - she was totally blaming the shoes, and the model was TRYING to tell her it was too narrow.
I think Christopher's collection was too disjointed and focus-less. Also, too many short shorts. Who wears those?
